The Sky News live sunshine feed seems to feature the sound of some staff having a bit of a gossip!

I quite liked 'personally I thought she was going to be here at six. I thought we was here from five to do the sunrise, and then from six onwards it was her doing weather lives - ya know what I mean? She might've gone to the wrong car park'. Their discussion around the economy was insightful too!
As seen on BBC Newswatch

I was glad when their gazebo arrived. Looks like they're going to need it.

As mentioned above, it could have been put to much better use displaying relevant information and advice. Though some would argue the whole thing has been blown out of all proportion anyway. What happened to common sense? It’s a bit of sunshine. I’m sure we all manage when we pay good money to go abroad to these temperatures every year. Why have the media made it end of the world stuff this time around. Side note - I wasn’t keen on Kamali’s almost aggressive and arrogant tone this morning on breakfast. Very smarmy with some of the guests and it just felt a bit off. Especially since its has actual real life effects, shutting down services, wild fires and driving people from their homes into Air Conditioned hotels if they can afford it or cooling centers. And in fact, if you count the people that have died in drownings trying to stay cool and also the climate change indicators, I think personally, it should be treated with more seriousness, than its just a hot day, get over it. But thats just me.

Should Sky really be broadcasting helicopter shots of some poor person’s house on fire?
I also find it a little hypocritical that Sky have a climate show (that nobody watches), but do not hesitate to get the helicopter up for hours on end.

Yeah if its news and that is. But why shouldnt a house fire be shown. Especially this incident. You have a large scale incident with multiple homes in danger and fields on fire in the capital..... and its questioned if a news organization should broadcast "shots of some poor person’s house on fire". So when the Grenfell Tower fire happen should that not have been shown LIVE? What about the fires in Australia and California.... should those be shown? What about right now across Europe? ITs interesting that the pearl clutching starts when things are close to home and questions over newsworthy images begin.
Yeah its the nature of news, some times bad things happen. But as long as its not graphic I personally dont have a problem seeing this broadcast. Im glad that SkyNews decided to do a split screen the fires on one side the endless political (but important) interviews from Westminster on the other. This is how the news chopper should be used for instead of flying around Parliament the other day during Boris cablnet resignations..... showing endless shots of the outside of the building LIVE for no reason.

It's on a delay I assume to avoid showing any sort of loss of human life being shown.

Hardly ‘pearl clutching’… For the record I do not think the live shots of people desperately waving for help during the Grenfell disaster was appropriate, news or not. In fairness when I first switched it on the shot was zoomed in on someone’s back garden, before it went on to show the much larger incident. Clearly the helicopter is probably justified in this case - however my point is more over the last 3 weeks sending the Sky helicopter up every day to show pointless live shots over Westminster, whilst also constantly reminding us about climate change.

It was probably the stupiest and pointless use of a chopper and I notice they do it alot. I think they did it during the no confience vote a few months ago. Whats the point? But sadly they havent gotten any reporters to any of these scenes. Just seems like in the olden days of SkyNews they would have had someone on scene. I think SkyNews shines when they have a reporter on scene. I remember those live scenes of them during the Arab Spring and the live camera followed the reporter around whilst they pointed out whats happening as its happening. {Edit} They finally got a reporter in scene. with a locked down camera. I know its not the exactly the same, but for contrast, here is how its covered regularly in LA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIWvks_eacs

Looking at the shots now on Sky and BBC the Wennington incident looks to me far more serious than the verbal commentaries are suggesting

Sky in general are quite guilty of this -talking on Sky Sports about needing to tackle climate change only to then reschedule games and events to times when you can’t actually get back from as an away fan using public transport.

Not been any new aerial pictures for a while, maybe away to refuel
I actually disagree with the above about sending reporters, they will get in the way of any fire rescue and potentially be in harms way, via the helicopter is the best tool to report this
