I guess BBC News’ Studio B (in its new current format) could host a debate of 2-5 participants, if they were all positioned along the curved newswall?
Although it’s unlikely to happen, as the BBC hosted debate is likely to happen only when the field has narrowed to fewer candidates.
And, of course, Studio B doesn’t have space for an audience per se. (not sure how much depth there is up at the balcony level).

The news could easily decamp into E for one night, right? (Galleries permitting). I suspect a BBC hosted debate between the final two would be as an episode of Question Time and wouldn't be from a studio in London. It'd be good for Studio B to be used for primetime interviews with the last two if they do them again (without Andrew Neil this time though).

The debate are live far as I know, so you can rule Studio B out because it's needed for the 10.

Have to say the ITV debate format is nice and tight and probably helps not having an audience reacting over them. Julie is good at moderating this as well.

To be fair, all you need is an LCD screen on the front of the podiums with a score on it and it'll look like any mainstream gameshow from the last ten years.
The YouTube livestream has some sound and vision breakup which is annoying - encoder issue? Seems like the studio output rather than something tailored as we saw the clock at the start of the bumper parked on -10 during the break.

Of course, being a Tory debate they can use blue - an excellent colour for enhancing skin tones. Does make the picture "pop" very nicely onscreen.
