Had it not been for Wimbledon I'm sure the 3pm grilling would have got a slot on BBC1 or BBC2.   Indeed short sighted perhaps of ITV or especially C4 not to capitalise on the BBC being tied up by doing something themselves.

Indeed did C4 do anything more than a 5 minute summary at lunchtime?

Not sure why you think anyone other than news junkies like yourself would want to see the 3pm grilling. There's no commercial benefit for ITV or Channel 4.

It goes beyond news junkies today though, plus the PSB value is there for C4.

I agree for ITV though it probably would not be Tenable to air Boris Johnson at his Tipping Point ahead of The Chase to replace him.

Both Court 1 quarterfinal matches at Wimbledon have wrapped up so that gives the BBC the ability (if they want) to bump the main coverage to BBC Two.

Things are all moving too quickly for them - the ticker was updated before the graphics so there was a period where there were 30 and 31 resignations simultaneously!

Been listening to LBC who were playing a nice montage of quotes from resignation letters... and another one happened!

Yep. Point though is a potential logjam scenario of needing to use BBC Three or Four in the event of QF matches on both courts still being played has been avoided. Hence, there can be a 'simple' bump.
