Andrew Cotter has been incredibly strong as a commentator during Wimbledon this year, another of the bunch have a depth of knowledge regardless of what sport is that they are commentating on (also see: Kat Downes) 

I would be very surprised if he doesn't end up commentating on the CG opening ceremony in a few weeks time

The opposite problem with Today at Wimbledon tonight, cutting away from a match which had as little as two points to go - and indeed it was over within a minute of them cutting away.

Clare Balding getting a mid afternoon out of vision outing on BBC2 as Court 1 finished up their first match shortly after Centre did on BBC1, so Clare linking to some doubles footage before the next match comes on in a few minutes.

Presumably all this will sort itself out next year - rightly or wrongly Isa was bought in a year too early really and I'm sure next year Clare will be the lead presenter, although probably in addition to the finals doing what she had been doing until this year anyway and taking over about 6pm to be the primetime presenter (now it's on BBC1) and then probably also doing Today at Wimbledon, with Isa doing daytime.

Djokovic v Norrie on first tomorrow which should save the BBC any scheduling headaches.

EDIT: Looks like it'll be the only semi final as Nadal expected to have to withdraw.

With Nadal pulling out and the second semi final scrapped, that's a big hole to be filled tomorrow. With only one "major" match tommorrow now, they're going to have to find doubles, junior, weelchair etc. matches to fill the schedules with, particularly on BBC2. I presume whatever was meant to be on BBC2 will be promoted to BBC1 once Djokovic/Norrie is over, but they'll have to find something very minor to put on BBC2, if they don't scrap coverage on there altogether and put on filler content.

No major hole to fill as BBC2 has a Euros match kicking off at 5pm so it solves a few headaches for the BBC and possibly enables them to schedule a full newshour or more at 6pm rather than just the 45 minutes scheduled for 7pm.

As Wimbledon is not something the BBC produces themselves, its not really something that the BBC should "find". Wimbledon themselves will just schedule to move another match to Centre Court and simply request that all host broadcasters take the feed in place of the SF that would have been played in that slot.

As an aside: I'm not so sure Nadal should have won his QF in the first place. He was injured and realistically should have retired from that match. By winning the QF [ie beating Fritz] and then subsequently removing themselves from the draw by withdrawing, he's effectively denied (imo) Fritz an opportunity to get to the SF of a Grand Slam, which is not an opportunity that turns up much in anyones' tennis career. Personally, Nadal should probably have just retired on the spot in the match, so that his opponent had an opportunity to play in the SF stage and subsequently an opportunity to reach the final. £500k and £1m respectively for each round is not something to be sniffed at, and seems somewhat unfair to Fritz.

That’s convenient for the BBC as they can run the BBC News at Six rather than at 7pm like was planned, and then slot in an episode of Garden Rescue before the Euro 2022 coverage

They would have been airing doubles on BBC Two in the afternoon any case as the semis are one after another rather than simultaneous

Wimbledon themselves will just schedule to move another match to Centre Court and simply request that all host broadcasters take the feed in place of the SF that would have been played in that slot.

Looking at the Wimbledon website there's only wheelchair matches listed on the order of play tomorrow (unless there's boys & girls matches which haven't been scheduled yet), apart from the semi final (though admittedly it would be a big boost for wheelchair tennis to see one of those matches on center), and it's possible they could all be finished or be in progress by the time the semi final is over (particularly considering they start at 11, 2 1/2 hours before Djokovic/Norrie), so there could be nothing to move to center, apart from maybe bringing one of the Doubles finals forward a day, and I'm not sure that's an option.

Both Women’s doubles semi finals are scheduled for tomorrow and would have been on Court No 1

Probably more of an issue for Wimbledon organisers than the BBC

I doubt they would move the Wheelchair doubles. I think they tend to schedule it on a court that has otherwise finished. I’m guessing the wheelchairs racing all over might damage the grass.
