Clubland Rebrand
#1
I've only just noticed that Clubland is using different fonts and graphics. When did this happen?

Kinda nice to see a bit of a refresh, those old graphics had been around probably as long as the channel has.

I first noticed that on Monday, and my other half defaults to Clubland daily for background music, so I assume the look launched at the start of the week.

It does look a bit cheap to be honest. Looks like everything is in Arial now.
I'm on Andover Radio every Saturday afternoon from 4pm-6pm. Follow me on Twitter.

Now that you mention it, does look Arial like.

They do look rather cheap, I think the previous set was better looking, the light pink to white to blue gradient doesn't help and you can see the song title box was a thinner shape with rounded corners which has been stretched out, all a bit uninspired. The transition wipe is quite nice with which makes me question why they didn't animate the graphics in a similar way.

I notice they've also updated Now 70s since I last looked and that seems to work a lot better than the reskinned general look that came before, the animations and style fits in well with the decade.

The use of Arial may have been glitch. A different, more fitting to Clubland typeface is now being used… doesn’t improve the overall image, but it’s at least a bit better now

On the subject of Clubland... I've noticed that even though Now 70s 80s and 90s are operated by the same company as Clubland that all 3 of the Now's have Teleshopping but Clubland does not. Why is this?

Probably some business reason for it but might be practical too... Maybe Clubland is shown in clubs that are open during teleshopping hours and they don't want to disrupt that?

I know the pubs/clubs around here show the FTA music channels on the screens during the main weekend trade (mainly Box Plus network ones you don't need a Sky sub for)
