I don’t mind the walk over to the wall, give you more that just a news programme, and breaks up just just cuts from one side of the studio to the other, which most news is or just always sat at the desk like ITV news do, just shows more things they can do and gives an extra dimension to it
From reading your posts, Stuart, I can only conclude that your life must be very grey!
In certain respects it's like the cameras in E moving during the programme open, totally unnecessarily, to make it visually more interesting.

I for one really like the walkabout to the screen and the glimpse into Newsnight and the regional wall. Jane Hill did it recently when she was presenting and I think I like it better with her than with Hew.

I'd be more impressed if they ended with just the programme with just your local newsreader appearing to appear on the screen, which would be more relevant to most viewers. Technically far more difficult of course but not impossible a bit of AR. Still ultimately just as pointless though.
