I agree with the walking visualised. Presenter should always be at the wall ready for the regional intro. They can walk over whilst the weather is on

I don’t mind the walk over to the wall, give you more that just a news programme, and breaks up just just cuts from one side of the studio to the other, which most news is or just always sat at the desk like ITV news do, just shows more things they can do and gives an extra dimension to it

No. It's just another example of "because we can do it, we will".

It's all just pointless superfluous prancing which adds nothing whatsoever.  It was mocked on comedy shows more than a decade ago when ITV did it.

Why do I need to see all the other regions? I can find them on Sky/Freesat/Online if I need to watch.

A lot of the people giving these comments seem to just like complaining. If the Beeb decided the new studio was unnecessary and changed to presenting the news from a static-shot, 1 camera studio, you bet they’d be the first to voice their outrage.

I for one really like the walkabout to the screen and the glimpse into Newsnight and the regional wall. Jane Hill did it recently when she was presenting and I think I like it better with her than with Hew.

I agree - and I speak as someone who loves Huw's presenting style, but I am finding his closing of the programme a bit long winded. Perhaps years of "and now time for the news wherever you are" was so short and succinct. It sometimes feels like it labours on a bit

I'd be more impressed if they ended with just the programme with just your local newsreader appearing to appear on the screen, which would be more relevant to most viewers. Technically far more difficult of course but not impossible a bit of AR. Still ultimately just as pointless though.

When TVS's Coast To Coast first started, they wrapped it around the ITN News at 5:45. They did the reverse thing there, and handed over to, and handed back from the ITN feed with it displayed on the studio set's screen.

The BBC could do the same I suppose at the end of the 6 and 10, but would look cheesy these days.

As you say, what you suggest would be impressive, but soak up an awful lot of 'resources' !
