Because bbc no longer has the rights to Wimbledon, just broadcast it, these ads are filler for when the rest of coverage throws to commercials.not really BBC’s doing
Not true as the Court Feeds just continue as normal on BBC iPlayer/BBC SPORT Website. There are no ads on the court feeds.

Exactly - and even if it was the case (which it absolutely isn't) they'd usually cover it with round ups etc. rather than BBC trailers.

It's at the point you might as well just manually record both channels all night if you're out and don't want to miss something!
I believe they're repeating it at the weekend, in a Saturday morning slot - not seen any communication about that though. I could've sworn it was 2022, not 2002. iPlayer exists, people!
And if they're tech savvy enough to use Twitter, they should be tech savvy enough to know that and use it.
Not everyone has a flash smart TV or wants to hunch over a computer. Or even superfast broadband. iPlayer usage is very low.

Again, you can use it on a smartphone or a tablet. If you have a device capable of using Twitter, you have a device capable of using iPlayer. The people who truly can't do anything about it, aren't the ones complaining online.

Just because people can use alternatives it doesn't mean they should have to, and many people complaining aren't doing so selfishly but also thinking about those who can't use the iPlayer for whatever reason. That's a sign we still have somewhat of a functioning society - people caring about those affected by things that may not affect themselves directly.
And yes, The Great British Sewing Bee may be on iPlayer but Bradford on Duty, postponed from last night, isn't - so that isn't the answer to the overall issue. Wimbledon absolutely should take priority and the ratings show the benefit of it doing so on BBC1, but the scheduling of other programming needs to be done in a way that conceeds scheduled programmes over these two weeks will always be disrupted.

They should treat it like the football when they don't know if they are airing a match. Add a second small schedule to indicate where the episodes will move to. It would seem logical to have BBC 2 full of repeats for the two weeks so that any BBC 1 content can be relocated.

The BeIn Sports France coverage is annoying. Watching Parry v Jabeur on Centre Court, they keep switching to split screen during the rallies to show what is on the other courts.

The BBC trying to make iPlayer happen when frankly it's not ready to do so is creating a situation of haves and have-nots. Is that right for the BBC to be doing that? I don't konw how many times I can say it but everyone not has superfast broadband, especially the older generation. My grandparents never had either a smart TV or the Internet. My father and uncle bought them a Freeview capable TV at DSO and that lasted them until they both died. And I pay my television license to watch television, not my phone.

I do think people are a bit stuck in the past, iPlayer is the future and wanting the BBC to be linear only is naive ar best,

I think with the iPlayer it's just more confusing than pressing RED - they never seem to flag the connected red button anymore.
This is probably a trivia question only Steve Williams could answer but I'm wondering when the last Wimbledon without any schedule disruption was. I'm guessing pre-Henmania?

Wimbledon Red Button services on iPlayer using the Fire TV Cube are 1280x720/50fps. Centre Court is either a choice between UHD or 720p and BBC One/Two coverage is 1080p/50fps. (BBC One when selecting Wales, Scotland or NI)

What they really need to stop doing is cutting to the wide shot when changing channels, especially when a match is in play.

Pardon me but you need to be covered by a TV Licence to watch or record programmes as they’re being shown on TV. That's what you buy the licence for. The device you use doesn't come into it, whether that device is a TV, a phone, a potato or next door's dog.
As for "superfast broadband", I can tell you now that iPlayer is perfectly usable on ADSL connections and 3G. If you try force UHD down a crappy ADSL connection then you deserve all the problems you get. And "older generation" has nothing to do with it, no end of 60/70/80/90 year old people who are online these days, so you can remove that generalisation for a start. All I'm going to mention at this point is Youtuber geriatric1927, who was vlogging on YouTube at the age of 86 when he died.
Anyway, back on topic... nice backhand there just!
