Did Christi Paul ever cover for a weekday show? I can’t recall ever seeing her on CNN outside of New Day Weekend.

Not that I can recall. She was the anchor to never cover anyone in New York, unless YouTube unearths a hidden gem.

She did more HLN weekday cover than CNN over, though that hasn't happened too much since they have one show on weekdays now.

Isa obviously changes from morning to evening. Next week starts „Isa Soares Tonight“. And Max Foster gets the „Newsroom“-slot in the morning.

Coincidentally both anchors will start their show 4 hours before their late 2019 show times. Glad to see Isa's rise at CNN, will miss seeing her at 4:45am ET when I'm just waking up.

Pleased to see Isa get Hala’s old role - she’s developed into a fine anchor.

With Hala and Cyril gone though, they do seem slightly light presenter wise in London. Presumably it will have to be a mix of Christina Macfarlane, one of the other regular London presenters or Atlanta covering if any of Max, Isa or Bianca are off.

That said not sure I’m a fan of the Tonight name making a return. It’s a global news channel so will be airing in regions where it very much isn’t tonight. Plus it’s not exactly an imaginative show name - and if you’re going to do that sort of show title surely good old ‘CNN Today’ works better. Plus Hala was the brand before and much as I like Isa she’s not yet the level of an Amanpour or Quest where you name the show after them. I don’t really see what was wrong with just having it stay as Newsroom but with Isa as the new permenant host and if they really wanted give it a voiceover the way they used to with Robyn Curnow to differentiate it from your standard Newsroom hour.

Give me an hour of Isa and international news any day though over some of what CNN has aired on primetime in the past (Wolf, Piers, State of America).

Frustrating that there's no net addition to international output with these changes. Still so many blocks of Domestic simulcast that are unnecessary for international audiences. (3+ hours of New Day, Erin Burnett Outfront all through to Don Lemon Tonight). Would be nice to see international output take over these timeslots again at some point.

The New Day simulcast makes no sense whatsoever to an international audience and never has unless it's covering a major breaking story. The entire evening slot had made zero sense since it all kicked off with when Covid hit us and CNNi was whittled down to what it is now. 

If Chris Licht's interest in making CNN more accessible to a global audience then it'll be patience we all need until he's ready to reveal his plans.

At least before, during the Cuomo days, New Day was interesting presentation-wise. with a greta NY set that was used in different ways. Now it's a lifeless, boring, limited NY-DC operation.

As an American, I do not understand CNNI any longer, but honestly it's been like that for years now, so I either use CNN here at home, or the many other international news channels that are out there in the world. It's not like you can't get int'l news on TV, but why not just use the stations that offer it instead of trying to change a channel -- CNNI -- that is not really there anymore. CNN en esp. seems to be working better.

Another brief departure has been announced as Laura Jarrett is going on maternity leave. Presumably means Christine Romans is going solo on Early Start for a while.

I doubt it. They'll team Romans up with someone else for the duration. 

Another observation today. Jim Scuitto is anchoring Newsroom from the London bureau today. He's not in the studio unfortunately. Live newsroom behind him.

I've noticed they are in the flash studios in London from whatever show is done there this week, (Except Amanpour who is doing her show from home) I don't know if they are doing preparation for some of the new shows for next week or just some general updates.
