Where did you hear that? Huh

Why are they getting rid of CBS Justice? I get CBS Drama because it would cause legal trouble with UKTV, but there isn't a channel named Justice.

I've looked into this in more detail, I think this info originally came from mavreela from the DigitalSpy forums, in the 2020 accounts of CBS UK Channels (which was published in December 2021) it mentions that there's a possibility of the partnership being disbanded, something I've should've spotted.

See "Full Accounts made up to 31 December 2020" from Companies House on the link below (Page 13, 3rd Paragraph), I can't link the document directly as the link expires, but it says the following:

Quote:The Company in 2020 has fully impaired the investment of £6,257,526 as it was probable to expect by the end of 2021 the cease of trading of the partnership between AMC and CBS. As of the signing date of these financial statement, the perspective is to keep trading until the end of 2022 with a detailed consideration over the future prospects, the investment in the joint venture has remained fully impaired.

Hmm, the DS forums historically haven't been the most reliable of sources. Is there a possibility that someone has made up some or all of this? Unfortunately the CBS channel and AMC websites don't seem to be the easiest to navigate to find press releases.

The info originated from Companies House, a reliable source, it's just that this info was via DigitalSpy.

…and mavreela is a very reliable poster, so I would not consider this information to have been ‘made up’ - it is interesting that this news has not been widely communicated, though…

'Fully impaired' in this scenario means that the partnership has lost any chance of profiting from the investment on the CBS channels. Judging by this it looks like Paramount doesn't believe the licencing of the CBS brand for the channels justifies a loss of £6.2million.

More importantly, it's where the information originally and actually came from and the validity of the source, CBS UK Channels' accounts on Companies House's website. Mavreela was the one who found it.

If they're making that kind of loss, I'm honestly surprised they aren't just closing down completely.

Having just read the Dec 2020 company accounts I managed to find the bit relating to...
Quote:The Company in 2020 has fully impaired the investment of £6,257,526 as it was probable to expect by the end of 2021 the cease of trading of the partnership between AMC and CBS. ...on page 13 under accounting policies.  The Dec 2021 accounts aren't due to be published until September, so this situation may have changed.

However, as far as I can see the Dec 2022 company accounts (unsurprisingly) make no mention of the reported channel name changes.  Currently there's no mention on the likes of CBS Justice or CBS Reality, though the first of which has a news article for the previous channel number change.  If these changes are happening in just over a week's time it's a bit odd that CBS/AMC don't seem to have announced it publicly themselves.

That also implies Justice isn't going away. Huh

Except it is, obviously!

It's saying that the channel moves Freeview number at the end of May - which was correct when it was published. No implication of anything else.

I misread it. Probably because the Reality article refers to something that's this week.

Pre-launch promo for Legend has been posted on Horror's Twitter account.
The logo seems to deviate from the CBS stylings we were thinking they were going to use.
Also known as "Allanbuzzy" on other places.
