Sky News has been showing a live broadcast of a US House Oversight Committee session, which is taking evidence on gun violence from parents and students of Uvalde. They cut away to a slide for a minute which looks like it may have been a technical issue. I don't think there was an interruption to the evidence session.

A climate change programme then started after exactly one minute of the slide below so looks like some sort of automated thing kicked-in.

After another minute or so of that, they went back to the committee feed - with a live apology from the presenter.

I saw this go out live.

There wasn't a technical problem when they cut to the slate, and both it and the emergency tape (the climate programme) clearly came from the gallery instead of Transmission (aka playout), like would normally happen when there is an actual technical fault.

So if I was to make an educated guess I would say the fire alarm went off and the gallery had to be evacuated, and this what we see when they hit some sort of "emergency" hot key.
He must be the most under utilised talent at Sky News.
@Brekkietweets
Anna Jones wont be presenting the Climate Change programmes, its given to a Countryfile presenter. So this give Anna a new role.

A victim I guess of the fact much of their ‘senior’ team haven’t really moved on much. I’ve said before this that Sky do have a pretty stable line up weekdays at least, apart from the switch around of Sarah-Jane and Kay, the rest of the team such as Dermot, Jayne, Anna Botting have been their for coming up 10 years now in pretty much the same slots at a rough estimate. While there’s been the departures of Sarah Hewson, Stephen Dixon, Isabel Webster they were part of the weekend team. The only major departure was Adam Boulton but his programme wasn’t replaced.

It’s a bit of a surprise change, Niall only took on weekend breakfast at the start of the year.

I think Tom Heap is only doing the weekend programme, the way I read the press release - they’re 30 minutes starting in July. I’m guessing someone else may end up getting the weekday Climate programme, or have no fixed presenter - they’re only 10 minutes at 3:30pm during the SJM show, I wonder if actually the weekday programmes may just be incorporated into and hosted by Sarah-Jane.
if its prerecorded, it can still be put online, if it is not possible to be used on TV due to news coverage.

It's done live from a second gallery as an OS into the main gallery, but obviously if there is breaking news etc. the programme is absolutely recorded and put online.
As has been the case for the last few, it's the Jonathan Samuels + Jon Craig double-act for tonight's by-election results (plus Coates and Thrasher).

For the record, Jonathan Samuels in the Glass Box, Jon Craig in Wakefield, Sam Coates in Tiverton and Michael Thrasher in the newsroom.
Sky News seem to be running without the usual Hour Top intro before the headlines, noticed overnight yesterday and was the same on breakfast this morning and just now at midnight.

As I understand it the Viz engine which runs the ident has lost its connection to the story database and cannot pull new stories to populate the graphic - so if they ran it this morning it would be showing stories from Friday. Obviously this doesn't affect News at Ten which has a non-dynamic ident.

Guessed it would have been something like that, surprised their isn’t a standby intro, as a ‘just in case’ back up. Also minor detail, but slightly odd at the moment as the hours are all starting early as a result so the TOH time checks are a few seconds off.
