This first airing isn't usually on the BBC Scotland channel, but it looks like because they announced they were moving it, they decided just to keep it on there as well as BBC One Scotland. Bit of a mess, but BBC Scotland has been showing another home design show in that slot recently anyway.

Panorama never gets an airing in prime time here these days, but that's another story.

What companies do the BBC and Sky use now with Arena being no more

Looks like Channel 4 News took the same heli-tele feed as the BBC at the top of their programme - so I suspect that was fed on APTN.

A2B Heli Charters - also out of Redhill. They bought some of the Arena helicopters, equipment and use a lot of the same crew.

An absolute non event as far as the BBC were concerned.

One thing I noticed today was the fact that GB News' Political Editor Darren McCaffrey and Correspondent Tom Harwood have been absent from the channel all day.

It's been left to Paul Hawkins to report from outside Number 10 and Gloria De Piero to sort of fill in for Harwood's role this afternoon in the studio.

I think it's highlighted that 2 political reporters is woefully inadequate for a news channel.
As seen on BBC Newswatch

Huw wearing a conventional microphone meaning he is being drowned out by all the commotion at the end of the street.

Let’s hope they’ve got someone in the studio for the rest of todays news, or else the section about the war on Ukraine will turn into a farce

Stop doing vox pops in markets, bingo halls and working mens clubs in the midlands or north of England, they add nothing. One women says he should go, one man says he should stay. Rinse and repeat every single day.

Did they used to do vox pops in the old days or is it a modern (last 25 years) thing?

Now we've got him summarising the rest of the day's events to the melancholy strains of Gary Jules's version of Mad World.

It's not entirely inappropriate I suppose...

It’s easy to say stop doing vox pops and I’m not a massive fan, but I think it’s easier said than done, especially as the local reporters are working alone without producers to help them find stories.

You'd think really they'd have given him one of those Madonna mics. He's had to apologise at least twice now for the noise, and nobody else in the studio for the rest of the news.
