I don't think it's virtual at all. Look at the top of the screen, there is clearly windows or an office of sorts.
Didn't NWT move out of their smaller studio into a 'temporary' setup? If so it's possible that BBC Sport are using the vacated smaller studio for their bulletins.
Formerly 'Charlie Wells' of TVForum.
No, I agree. It looks like the bank of monitors to the left of the desk in the main studio just moved into the NWT second studio space.

Yes, that's

Yes, that's definitely where they are - someone confirmed on Twitter. NWT are now in a converted edit suite for their secondary studio!
Do NWT use their secondary studio for more than just the Breakfast bulletins?

No, generally used for just brekky bulletins (not solely about you…) and the 9am Sunday Raworth news update.

This is the temporary home:

It also gets used for Simon King's weather forecasts sometimes?

What is that light / lamp on top of that screen for? Sorry to ask.

Standard three point lighting technique. You can see what it does quite well on this clip

Definitely virtual, it's the hair that gave it away. The virtual set looks very realistic.

Wow, happy to stand corrected.

Are they not using the secondary mainline sport studio instead, or a bit of both maybe? That’s what it looks like on the Holly Hamilton post
Blimey. Yes, very good green screen!

Wonder if the old NWT second studio is essentially being the second Sport studio then - for times when the green studio is on air elsewhere?
No 11pm edition of Newsday on the BBC news channel, instead just a simulcasted bulletin from studio C
Lots of lengthy engineering work going on. Whole sports set is coming out.
Sport are moving into the secondary North West Breakfast opt studio for the best part of a year. It’s been fitted out to look like the sports set.
North West have moved into an edit suite as has already been seen.
Sport will be using a combination of the North West space and their green screen studio.
Hearing rumours that the new set will go live on Monday... There is also some chit chat about a multiscreen handover at the end of the programme to hand to regions.
We know that BBC Sport and BBC Breakfast will be getting the new set that is in development but there has been no mention of BBC North West. Does anyone know of any plans or is it a case of we'll be stuck with the shoebox.
