BBC News: April 2022 onwards

I wonder if those Astons could be used as a precursor when the new rebranded BBC News goes live in June or when the new titles go live from next year. It is used on other BBC News programmes like Hardtalk, The Film Review and The Nine on BBC Scotland to date. The news bulletins in the regions and  nation's would probably need to use them as well. However the question is how would they display with the new BBC News logo.

I'd imagine something like this?

In Italy at the moment and just heard a story about delays at Euston station. There really needs to be more caution with stories simulcast on World - half of the viewers won’t know where Euston is!

Well as it’s a British channel perhaps they can safely assume it’s in Britain.

Sorry but I don’t think we should be pretending BBC News is some sort of stateless channel. It’s British and should be proud of that.

I bet CNN never refer to “United States President Joe Biden” I bet it’s always “President Joe Biden”.

I thought the titles were launching in June as well?. 2023 seems like a long time

But equally a story like that has no relevance on a ‘World News’ channel - what does a viewer in Singapore care that the Avanti service has collapsed (again!)

Perhaps it was extreme suggesting that they may not know at all, but equally there really does need to be a focus on making sure World simulcasts aren’t totally irrelevant.

What studio was that for the BBC Sport bulletin just after the News at One? I don't recognise it, is it a revamped main studio without the breakfast-like sofas or a different studio entirely?

I believe that BBC Sport have temporarily relocated to the former space occupied by the NWT Breakfast bulletins (which has been moved into a cupboard) 

It must be a fairly decent space, as at one time BBC NW used it for their regional politics programme, and it has a view on to their newsroom, but not used for that purpose for many years.

Not seen it but BBC North West Today relocated from their secondary set last week to make way for BBC Sport to temporarily relocate to where they were as part of the changes to studios being rolled out in Salford so I suspect that is the set you saw.

It’s one of the virtual sets that are being used to the moment to allow for a reshuffle and change

I don't think it's virtual at all. Look at the top of the screen, there is clearly windows or an office of sorts.
