Really uncomfortable with Sarah Smith's decision to interview a 10 year old survivor of the Uvalde massacre yesterday on the 10pm bulletin last night... can't be good for the kid to be asked by a journalist what happened, and didn't give any information you couldn't have guessed in advance so I struggle to see the editorial justification.

Martine introduced the BBC News at One by saying "Welcome to the BBC's Lunchtime News". Sima Kotecha just used the same intro at 2pm. A small detail, I know - but I've not heard them introduce a bulletin using anything other the "BBC News" or "the BBC News at One" for a long time.

My understanding is that the One is produced by the News Channel team, whereas the Six and Ten had dedicated teams. That could explain it...

Given how frequently connections can drop and how awful the sound quality can be on Zoom, I wish the BBC would move back away from this.

Presumably Radio Cars and dedicated DTL positions are expensive. This whole announcement is to bring BBC costs down due to license fee freezes.

Something's gotta give... I think on balance, this is probably a good way to save.

Not sure if it’s something to do with yesterdays announcement but since the news at one today they have opened the bulletins with “good afternoon and welcome to the BBC’s lunchtime news” strange wording especially for the opening to the news at one.

That is odd - and even if simulcast it’s not as if that phrasing is any less time-specific.

Strange - it may have been an autocue error, as it was said at 2 and 3pm, but not 4pm.

I’m dead excited for new titles for BBC News, BBC Newsline, BBC Look North etc whenever that may be. But I’m also going to miss the MartinLambieNairn national news titles. as it’s my favourite look.

If the 1/6/10 end up simulcast on BBC World regularly I wouldn't be surprised if references to the time they air being cut back, though of course using "lunchtime"/"teatime" etc. doesn't help that either.

There isn't really any need for a simulcast at those times, so it's the perfect opportunity for the 'new BBC-NC' to concentrate on international news, as the 'domestic flavoured' version would be on BBC One.

All UK viewers have access to both channels, so they can go for the international option if they wish, or BBC One for more domestic focus.

That was surely an error by Seema Katetcha, perhaps trying to throw some ad lib into the intro. Many of the irregular NC presenters try their own style - usually always ends in failure. 

Not a fan of Seema doing rolling news. She's excelling at her role at Panorama. This maybe however the BBC saves money buy having multidiscipline journalists.
