It’s a wonder they’ve not crossed over to Fox News like Sky used to. They have a London based American broadcaster in the studio now. Having a live overnight show certainly allows them to react this kind of thing.

Piers Morgan is the ideal person to have on for a story like this, gun control was a topic he covered a lot on his CNN show

I don't see much point to keeping her for The Talk. That show is probably never going to get big ratings anyway but it can still function without it's 'big name' presenter who no doubt costs a decent amount of money so surely it's a no-brainer to just continue it with the other panelists?

She'll still be under contract though so they might as well use her rather than not and have to pay her anyway.   I'm sure though that'll be a factor when the contract is up for renewal, whether thats after 3 months, 6 months or 12 months.

Interested to see where Piers Morgan Uncensored went with the content tonight, considering there's big stories both sides of the pond.

He opened with a bit on the horrific event in the States, before doing a short piece giving his views on the Sue Gray Report and has now returned to the American news with 2 interviews on the subject. Almost half an hour in with no ad break.

Always going to be a hard juggling act and does make me wonder if they'd ever do different editions of the show?

Visually though, the show is looking as great as it always has done.

They don't seem to use Zoom/Skype/Webcams when interviewing any guests? Even when they're not a studio setting (those being the US/Aus commentators), it always seems to be a HD quality camera. So are they sending a crew wherever here or in the US to get these people in full video quality?

Considering his stance on gun control was his big thing when he was with CNN this should play to his strengths - though I suspect his CNN stance wouldn't be in line with the Fox Nation stance.

Yes I agree and I think it’s because he only touched on the shooting, the UK politics situation and the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard case.

None of the culture wars or “Worlds Gone Nuts” features. Piers is all the better for tackling serious stories!

Kind of highlights where the editorial team on GMB were worth their weight in gold in reigning him in and keeping him focused. With the news of the day somewhat doing that job for them today the show has a great focus and a greater relevance. When you've Piers and a team somewhat left to their own devices making a show about what they want to talk about, rather than what the news dictates should be covered, that is where the show will become a chore to watch.

You're right. If anything, despite general cross-party support for the right to hold guns in the USA (something I'll never truly understand like why they don't have a NHS), support is stronger among right-leaning Americans than left-leaning Americans.

And we can see clearly over the last few years which audiences each network's content is designed to appeal to.

Aren't there quite a few ex-GMB editorial team members on the new show? Just Piers with a much bigger say than he had previously.

Morgan desperately needs a 'foil' like he had on GMB.
The show is just too unfocused.

I think piers would work better at breakfast against GMB, not much competition at that time of day and I’d be much more likely to watch for one

Ad break hasn't fired again tonight - Piers made a joke about it when they came 'back'... (not sure how well that'll go on the 11pm repeat or the international showings!)

Same as last night, the Talk TV logo and clock also not on screen for the final part of the show after the technical issues. Piers did hint at a piece of kit not working correctly, causing the ad error.

There was a point in tonight's show where the broadcast completely froze for about 10 seconds, went to black for a second then returned as normal. Switched off by 8:20 so not sure if it happened again.
