By 1993 wasn't there an "official" network feed from LNN? So it's quite possible the programme took several hops, from Maidstone, into Birmingham where the pres was added, then then the full CITV feed was then sent onto London to go out to the network?
A couple of nights ago on Now 70s (i think, but it was definitely a Now channel) i caught a black screen followed by a vt clock for a 32 red advert i believe. The advert then played out and the channel carried on as normal. What was even more strange is the vt clock said ITV on it. I tried to rewind and capture it but i wasn't on the channel long enough to rewind, annoyingly!

Not in 1993, AIUI there wasn't a single network feed until ITV PLC came about and everything was centralised. Although by that point the number of playout centres had gradually reduced anyway.
And of course it wouldn't have come from Maidstone, Meridian only ever used it as a newsroom

TVS kept hold of Southampton IIRC.
Not that it's relevant... but Meridian bought the TVS centre in Northam, which is in Southampton.
TVS kept hold of Maidstone and it's new owners used it to start The Family Channel. Meridian initially rented part of Maidstone for it's South East news but then moved to a new location.

Interesting to see a static fault caption here rather than the usual 'floating 4' that C4 used at the time
IIRC Channel 4 usually used a "Programmes will continue shortly" slide rather than a "technical fault" one - and still do - so that's probably why it's such an odd sight. Not to mention the very unusual cross-fading.

As noted in the comments the picture disturbance before the adverts is actually cue marks put on by all the TV stations who had the film before them! That print has been around a bit!

Magic currently only has its DOG on screen (minus the TV part of the DOG) no programme graphic or song title graphics. It is supposed to be showing "Top 10 at 10: Brit Icons" not sure if that is what it is doing as it seems to be just switching from video to video with no indication of what its playing.
