I believe that Fox News is dependent on the same demographic and they've done well enough out of it.

Interesting nugget from the RAJAR figures yesterday- the average listener stays with GB News radio for 6.3 hours per week – that’s higher than Times Radio, BBC 5 Live, talkSPORT & LBC News.

Well that's what happens when proper news dominates the agenda, though I imagine the GB News audience is less likely to watch online anyway. Indeed have we had much info on the demos GB News gets - news channels trend older anyway but suspect GB News trends older than Sky News at least, though probably not too different to BBC News.
Not far off the one year mark amazingly - wonder if they'll make as big a deal about that as they did their 10 week anniversary. I'm guessing from the changes around Christmas most the initial contracts were probably for six months rather than a full year but possible there could be some changes again in the weeks ahead if some contracts aren't renewed, though suspect they're kind of comfortable with where they are now and probably better not to rock the boat.

Dominic Frisby one of the three main presenters of Headliners hasn’t been on for about 3 weeks. He’s still in the promo image though, although not sure that tells us much. He may just be taking time of course.
There's too many comedian shows on GB News. As much as I would like a laugh, I want to watch GB News for the actual news and serious debate. Shows like Ministry of Offence and Andrew Doyle should be on a streaming platform only like YouTube.

I would argue those programmes offer a genuine alternative to most topical/satirical comedy on television. Stuff like The Last Leg, Mock The Week, Mash Report etc. all skew very left.

I agree with you. However, these programmes need to be on another service whether it is streaming on YouTube or another channel linked to GB News.

You’ve basically repeated your last post without really explaining why. I actually think of Free Speech Nation and Headliners you get a better quality of discussion than on a lot of their other shows.

Free Speech Nation isn't all comedy. There was a debate about the first UK black Civil Rights movement which was dealt with in the same style of the 'newsy' GB News hours.

That is a valid point. But I'd also argue "right-skewing" comedians have very little in the way of outlets. In a way, we've gone full circle and it is now they who are "The Alternative Watch."
I always remember someone (I can't remember who) discussing Blair's ascension to office in 1997 on the Channel 4 silver anniversary documentary, and saying at the time "Who do I take the p*ss out of now" or words to that effect. It might be Ben Elton but it's YEARS since I saw it.
