TV Live Forum Welcome back
This is a long-term request, no rush of course. But any chance that the thread title could link to the newest post, not just the icon that does so?

Yep, that's in the improvement plans...

Hi Rob. Well done on trying to get the site back to normal at this time. It feels like a trojan effort to get it back up and running. I am getting issues with displaying links from Twitter. It does appear to have issues when viewing this site so far. I cannot see anything from tweets or anything like it at the moment. Will be you doing anything to rectify that issue along with the other stuff that currently needs to be addressed. TIA.

To add to this, is it possible to make the forum software go to the anchored post after all the embedded content loads? I’ve noticed this a lot in threads: every time i click/tap the arrow, it jumps to the anchored post instantly, which means that the anchored post is quickly buried when tons of tweets, images and/or youtube videos load after this has happened. It means that clicking the arrow always places me at least a significant number of messages before the actual post that was anchored to.

Embedded tweets/posts/videos/whatever are beyond the control of the forum software.
Twitter is quite good at taking all day to load an embedded tweet.

The browser side is the preferred solution to this problem and any recent desktop browser should be doing it already, see this link:

An open question - Can the Metropol upload system still be used here?

I've seen people use Imgur here and there recently

Yes as per https://tvliveforum.com/misc.php?action=help&hid=8 - "Where possible, please use the Metropol File Upload Service to upload images and videos for submitting to the forum."

http://www.metropol247.co.uk/uploadservice

You can get all the URLs you need when you upload something.
@Pete is your technical support for any problems.

Imgur is probably quicker for the odd occasion where you've just taken a screengrab and want to get it up quickly.
there's something up with the signatures where when i went to remove the Html leftovers from my signature, i was told i was over 255 characters and had to trim it down even though i had around 50. Might be something with the colored text?

also the "Forum Rules" button has a "Log Out" tooltip when hovered over. Both buttons are the same color but that's probabl unrelated

Coloured signatures aren't allowed with the new software. To be honest, they're too distracting.

With the new forum design being worked on, I'm not making any more changes to the current template.

I assume with the new forum design that we’ll have the option to use the current design if we prefer it? Of course i’ll certainly try the new design, but having options is good! Smile
Hi Rob

I think (hope) this is a simple one - since the fix for videos getting double posted, they now fall off the edge of the screen on mobile browsers (or if you resize the desktop version to a small enough width).

Probably just a missing width="100%" somewhere in the CSS.

Thanks for all the hard work!
Write that down in your copybook now
The plan is to just stick with the one forum template. It's a pain having two versions as you then have to keep both maintained. It's hoped to have a "read-only" version of the site that is essentially a "lite mode" but I'll need to look into that a bit further.

The issue with the videos not being responsive will be resolved with the new forum template, but I will take a look at it when I have some free time.

The ITV idents thread has a link to a 27th page that apparently doesn't exist.

A bug caused by posts being deleted, perhaps?
Just a note to say that there will be some downtime on Saturday morning between 8am and 9am UK time for maintenance.
