They'll be using Studio A until after they're finished with Election prep. Maxine Croxhall confirmed in a tweet.

I do hope that the upcoming set changes will include, at the very least, a new standard VR set. The current one would be barely acceptable if it was temporary, let alone in use for nine years.

Is there a reason why they can't use D? They were out by 6 and regional news didn't start until 6:50. Studio A looks absolutely appalling.
Reporting Scotland used the old BBC News Scotland logo on the evening edition tonight.
Is it just me or is there a lot of audio bleeding in from elsewhere (gallery or an OB maybe?) on the BBC News Channel this afternoon?

Not just you. This is also not the first time in the last few weeks that its happened, every time it seems to occur when they’re broadcasting from A. So strange. Right now, you can hear air raid sirens presumably from Ben Brown’s microphones in Ukraine
The headlines/regional opt out all went wrong there during the Ten

Looks like Salford went too early meaning the regions got confused and didn’t know when to start and opted out ending up missing the titles/crashing the start

Very, here in Yorkshire it went: start of headline for Liverpool FC, then cutting to Sport headline about Bournemouth for the News Channel with Sophie speaking in the background, the News at 10 titles start before cutting to the headlines for Look North before joining Sophie just in time.

BBC iPlayer it really.
So ahead of the local elections, Huw was in Cardiff for the 6 & 10 last Wednesday, Sophie was in Belfast for the 6 & 10 yesterday. Did I miss the 6 & 10 live from Glasgow/Edinburgh in the last few weeks?

Does Salford (for BBC Sport) effectively "opt" out of the network feed in the same way that the nations and regions do?

No, the Sport headline is the network feed. It looked like the director just hit F12 (take next) way too early (it's easily done) so it moved onto the pre-rec sport headline and, of course, once that happens all chaos ensues!
BBC Reel has updated, I think thats all the graphics on BBC World News, but of course you get to see the old logo on various bits of hardware and studio decorations such as Worklife India using the old old bbc news logo still.
I think the Trundle Cam is broken again, the TOTH sequence is showing the recorded shot that comes up when usually broadcasting from A.

BOTH sequences are using the globe version instead of the trundle cam.

News at Six last night showed this during the titles:
