I don't think local elections have ever been done from the main election set other than the year they used it as a dry run for the next election.
Presumably putting Studio B back into use will mean a rethink on the next General Election, which feels like it'll be the most noteable contest since 2010. A revamped Studio E might be an option, with the surrounding newsroom the hub of the coverage. It wouldn't feel as disconnected from the engine room of the coverage as 2019 did stuck in the basement.

Well that partially explains why E is only being used for the BBC1 Bulletins and World and NC have been together at weekends for the past couple of months.
I did say partially as i didn't think it was the entire reason why but at least we now know we've at least another 2 weekends of it (i.e World/NC Together for the whole weekend.) as i'm guessing the prep for the Local Election coverage will be starting soon if it hasn't already.

Chris Cook posted a story on his Instagram yesterday showing rehearsals underway for the local elections in studio E. News channel was in A yesterday afternoon.

I wonder how much there actually will be to talk about in the overnight results coverage. I know in Wales that most, if not all local authorities will be counting the votes again during the day on Friday, as happened for the Senedd elections last year. The NI Assembly election results are counted during the day on Friday as well.
Are many local authorities in Scotland and London counting overnight? And what about the results of the Metro mayors being elected in England?

Have we had elections from Studio E before? Can’t remember.
Wonder if they’ll be lighting the set/newsroom differently? Presume all red wouldn’t be much good for an election programme!?
Do ITV have any programming planned? I don't see anything overnight and they have a normal scheduled news at 1pm on the Friday. All the English votes should be in by about 6am on the Friday morning.
