So did they air a compilation of the week for Piers tonight or just repeat one of the episodes?

It was a compilation, Trump, Osbourne, Tucker Carlson, Caitlyn Jenner & Tyson Fury. 

According to this article Rob Rinder didn't sign up for The Talk following rehearsals. Ulrika Jonson appeared to be main host tonight.

Interesting to note that it appears one of the reasons they can't get talent on TalkTV is because they have Kyle on the books which makes it even more bizarre that they've decided to promote him to a prime-time show.

The odd thing about a news channel focusing solely on producing content for primetime is that historically I'm pretty sure news channels have generally rated better outside of primetime.

Absolutely, that's why comparing Talk TV and GB News' ratings to Sky News or BBC News Channel isn't entirely fair - everyone's watching the proper channels at that time. 

The other thing is that is they're wanting to 'build out prime time' then what does that mean? They've already got programmes for the whole of primetime, so is that replace the existing ones with new programmes or extend the hours of Talk TV

I see "build out primetime" as extending the TV content, so an extra hour from 10pm.   Maybe a two hour show from 9pm replacing The Talk?  Having a zero rating radio simulcast at 10pm is gifting Wootton viewers.

Yet Sky News are doing it now.  Is it just reaction to being beaten by GB News in primetime and the launch of TalkTV?

The difference is though Sky have their daytime hours to promote their primetime content.

I suspect the competition has driven them towards more appointment to view content, but primetime has always been tricky for the news channels where they're basically just repeating content people have seen on the daytime bulletins anyway - and Sky have tried numerous things over the years from the appointment to view hour long slots of 2005 to just having looped 15 minute bulletins for a couple of years too. I did think the 9pm-Midnight block with an hour of news at 9pm, their own Sky News at Ten and then primarily focusing on the press previews from 10.30pm were a more solid block than most though.

It looks like TalkTV and TalkRadio will split on Sunday as Trisha Goddard is on until 4pm on the radio station with Kevin O'Sullivan from 4-7pm while the tv channel has the Piers omnibus from 3-7.

I loathe Dan Wootton but have to admit his 10pm hour is just sparkier than Sky’s increasingly tiresome paper reviews, which lose something by being done remotely and often feature rather earnest print journalists from regional papers. It’s all a bit flat and under-produced.
