Interestingly, just seen a BBC Two trail for Britain’s Top Takeaway where the BBC logo animation was in fluid 50i rather than 25p as it usually appears. Looked a lot higher quality but then obviously looks strange going into the ident which has the logo animation rendered in 25p.

Yes, but what Josh was getting at was that for the 6 Music Festival, they decided to use the styling of the IPP for song titles instead of a specifically designed lower third...

Was this the original plan? Prototypes were made and then they decided to change the logo?
It does show that the 1997 logo would have been fine for this rebrand - better in fact.

That has got to be a prototype. No doubt about it. The fact that this prototype exists may make sense why a survey was conducted and people wanted the BBC to fully change its identity.
