Apart from Piers’ show which will do OK, cannot see what the point of this hour of straight news is. GB News (strange as it is) had a mission statement. I don’t really know why Talk TV exists beyond Piers.

A vehicle to sell adverts. A vehicle to subtly point people towards the Times and Sunday Times (same as Times Radio).

Piers's mic doesn't sound as good on TalkRadio as unlike the News UK studio, it's designed for television and not for a combined TV/radio studio.

Yes it's like when the BBC televise their podcasts or radio 4 programmes on the News Channel and it sounds very odd as the quality of the microphones and deadened studio acoustic is very different. 

I haven't heard GB News on the radio yet but there they don't have anything from a proper radio studio whereas Talk will have superior audio most of the time

I don’t know why they’re trying to pretend that Talk Radio and Talk TV are two separate entities when in essence they are exactly the same thing, just swapping names periodically.

That being said, I really enjoyed the opening programme. The presentation was smooth and pleasing to the eye. The graphics were stylish and definitely had an American feel to them.

9/10 so far.

I caught a bit of it, and this is GB News done right. News UK, for good or for ill, know how to run a news service, a very good news service at that. Credit where it is due, they've done a good job, and I do see this becoming Britain's third biggest news channel, behind BBC and Sky News. 

Why didn't they just call the channel 'Talk UK' or just 'Talk' so that it makes sense on the radio which I imagine is still their no1 revenue?

While a bit unimaginative, I think Talk UK or Talk are very generic and too vague. Besides, the radio station is TalkRADIO, the television station is TalkTV, so its consistent.
