In fact in the article that Piers wrote in The Sun about the interview with Trump, it appears that Piers was even lucky that the interview even went ahead as Trump found about tweets that Piers put out about January 6th.

Yes didn't they have a bit of a falling out, I seem to remember Piers mentioning that Trump hadn't returned his messages for a while. It certainly hasn't been the old relationship they had

They had a falling out over Covid, but I think Trump eventually called him again. The reason it was nearly called off this time is because according to Piers on Lorraine the other day, an associate of Nigel Farage had just sent over a dossier of stuff Morgan had said about the January 6th riots before the interview.

That's the 'trouble' with this format. If it's just people who agree with each other night after night, it quickly gets boring except to a hard core of fans (eg. Farage on GB News). Presumably Piers needs people to 'argue' with in order to generate social media pantomime clips, otherwise no-one will bother scrolling right down the EPG to watch.

I agree with David's analysis. I wasn't under any illusion that this programming might appeal to me, but I noticed the titles for Piers show (in the preview loop) features "SAVE FREE SPEECH!" and "WAKE UP!" which confirmed my lack of interest.

As a pres fan, from what I've seen so fair the look is fairly neat and professional, if a little uninspired.

Judging by the program title cards on the Talk TV website, it seems the channel will have a uniform look. However, the primary colours for the TV (dark blue) and radio (light blue) programs will be differentiated.

Another tidbit is Jeremy Kyle will be part of the 9pm 'The Talk' program.

Piers doing Monday-Thursdays isn't too surprising, I wonder if Sundays will become the day for any Piers fronted documentaries and programmes.

That being said, he is exclusive to News UK or can he work for another broadcaster if he wished?

I have wondered how the documentaries etc will work, because presumably they won’t simulcast very well onto the Radio? But the schedule is 1 and all right now.

This level of production values is what I thought we might get from GB News when it launched. But they decided to get any proper TV people or set designs to do any of the work. Apparently they used an office design company with no experience of designing sets.

Depends how they are made, they could produce them like radio documentaries with added visuals, so it works on both.

Depends how they are made, they could produce them like radio documentaries with added visuals, so it works on both.

I think a better example would be the NHK World documentaries, which are produced for bilingual broadcast in both Japanese and English, where the narration carries the weight of the production and the visuals are just a nice accompaniement.

Like with Farage Piers will get a little bit of attention and then fade out to insignificance - and going down the culture wars route in an attempt to go viral will be seen through immediately. Really can't see Sharon Osbournes show performing well either. Whatever you think of her personal conduct she's generally far better as a guest or panelist than she is as a lead presenter.

Think only Piers is Mon-Thu, everyone else is Mon-Fri. Some reworked radio shows but no flagship stuff for the weekend.

I’ve never heard of this, I wouldn’t have thought Sky would even have control on who gets a slot as long as it sticks to Ofcom rules. Anyway, if that’s the case they’re just say it’s all content for the TV channel that happens to simulcast on radio, like GB News. Ultimately it’s all original content that just happens to be simulcast on other platforms so I really don’t understand what you’re getting at here.
