It's not like you're gonna see them much, they're radio logos.

Well, firstly. I don't know if you use BBC Sounds, but I do and actually I see them very often.

Secondly what I meant more is they're bland in comparison to what used to be. The logo of BBC Radio 3 for example kinda already showed you what it is about. If the new one is just a number in a circle, then it doesn't really tell you that.

Though not on the microphones which put the old logo front and centre with the new logo in the background every time the presenters came on.

I’m really puzzled by the BBC Three colour being applied to 6 Music. Why have they linked the two? Surely Radio 1 is a more appropriate fit if they want to create an association between the tv channel and a radio station? Then again, the highlights were shown on BBC Four… Maybe the designers just forgot that other colours are available?

New BBC Scotland, Cymru Wales, and Northern Ireland logos making their first appearance on BBC website. Not sure whether the current icon of these regions were retained or not but they are use all-caps logo for Nations name and notably BBC Scotland division now using same logo as its TV channel.

Anyone know why Alba get a little star on their logo, is it something to do with the language?

If not it’s a weird anomaly.

[mention]thomalex[/mention] It was inherited from the BBC's partnership with MG Alba that made the channel possible, and whose logo was the basis for the first BBC Alba logo. The little star is also a big part of MG Alba's identity system, being used as a branding device on everything ranging from annual reports to promotional material.

Dull and bland compared to the distinctive versions they replaced which enabled them to stand out in their own right, rather than as just yet another sub-division of the BBC.

They really need to get their act together with the app icons. Lots of comments about them on Twitter - pretty much all the same theme, asking what the icons (especially news) are supposed to be or saying how hard it is to find BBC apps since they changed.

Look at the reviews for BBC News on the app store - all recent ones say the new logo is unintelligible and give the app one star.

Why on earth would you launch a set of logos that are disconnected from the rest of your branding so that they make no sense to anyone and seemingly have no association with the service they’re meant to represent? It’s like something they’d do on the Apprentice. At least use them in the tv ads!

....as in, giving the app one star over how the icon looks instead of how the app actually functions.

That’s the point. Why would they need to stand out in their own right? They ARE sub divisions.
