No News at Ten preview as such tonight. Mary just read out the headlines coming up at ten instead.
ITV News weekend Morning back again this weekend. I think this might be a regular thing

The opt out fairly neatly done. Charlene tells viewers "Here is what coming up before Emmerdale", with a brief pause before England get the details of what's coming up on the news, including Alex previewing the weather. Meanwhile in Wales there is a preview of "Coast and country" before a sign off from Charlene and closing titles. Lucy then had the UK weather forecast.

There was a hold as Charlene said “here’s what’s to come in the next half hour…”.
I’m guessing that was the point UTV, Border and ITV Wales opted out.
Clever way of dealing with the 7pm split - “here’s what’s coming up before Emmerdale at 7:30pm”, followed by a small gap and a preview of the next half hour. Presumably Border/Wales/NI opted out for a preview of their 7pm show.
Obvious if you were looking for it, with the wording, but seamless for the vast majority of viewers.
They have handled the opt on Border Scotland much better than expected. Charlene introduced Border Life with a coming up preview before full closing and handing to national weather as happens after NaT/pre Monday.
Charlene told us UTV Life from the studios in Belfast was coming up next, over a preview of the UTV Life opening theme, then cut to a proper ITV Evening news closure, then the National weather, followed by a lacklustre continuity announcement, then UTV Life.
"From today you'll hear some new voices when you're watching UTV, as for the time being we're handing over to our colleagues at ITV, but rest assured Julian and I will be back with you as soon as possible"

How was Charlene with Alex?
<t>I may not contribute much, but I will, where I can.</t>
A real shame they’ve shattered the illusion of the virtual set by having ‘screens’ wipe on for the weather. Pretty sure they’ve always tried to make elements of the set look real previously.
It looks like ITV News Weekend Breakfast is also scheduled in for next Saturday morning as well. I’m guessing it’s a semi permanent fixture going forwards.
They seem to have moved away from the “main presenters” we’ve seen the last couple of weeks and Gamal is presenting this morning.
