No. The Fire TV Cube and some smart tv sets support 1080p VOD, but the regional streams in England continue to be 540p. If you want to watch 720p HD BBC One streams, you need to change the region to Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales.

I saw that too in the iPlayer beta on a Sharp TV. When you mentioned the animated logo, I thought I’d test it out, and it seems to only appear on live channels at the top left hand corner.

On my Sharp smart tv iplayer looks very buggy. My list of recent shows have disappeared and a notice saying “iplayer may look different today but you can stream as normal” is there a fault at their end?

The browser version is working fine, both for live channels and VOD. I haven't been able to check the tv app.

The Android mobile app has a message on the main page, but it all appears to be laid out correctly and working as normal on my phone.
