The All new Look North Yorks and ITV Calendar thread
I notice on Look North they’ve stopped giving out the football results, saying that ‘they are on the BBC Sport website’, I’m wondering what people’s opinions are on this, and whether other regions are doing the same?

Is it Perfectly acceptable as the results are on the website, or could you say that the weather and news is on the website as well, so why single out sport?

Is it likely to be because of the cuts meaning there is no one available close to transmission to either fill in a slide nor write some interesting script going through the results

This isn’t just recent it’s been the case for months
Has BBC Leeds had a studio upgrade? It looked pretty decent on Virgin HD this lunchtime.

Uncle Peter mentioned the East Yorkshire broadcast was in HD on Virgin from today so probably the same for Leeds?

I remember the outrage when News at Ten stopped giving out the results. That seems to have slipped through the net.

BBC South Today the other night delivered them by means of a 1980s style '.... Please look away now' and silent caption.

Isn’t Hull newer then Leeds though ?

Yes, as Hull moved into the current building in June 2004, whilst Leeds moved into theirs in September 2004.

So no then?

No, not really.

Presumably Leeds recycled a lot of its equipment when they moved to St Peter's Square from Woodhouse Lane, whereas with the introduction of the then new BBC EY&NL region (again) presumably most of the equipment there was purchased from new.
I think that's doubtful, Woodhouse Lane wasn't widescreen capable, and if they had reused significant amounts of kit it would have prevented piloting in the new building before going on air.

I can't see it on there now, but TV Ark used to have a video which was a report covering the move between Woodhouse Lane and St Peter's Square with Tom Ingall and Cathy Killick which I seem to remember mentioned it was all pretty much new kit and systems.

Edit: found it on this YouTube video

Slow news day? Look North Hull had a discussion about a producer on Doctor Who being called Pete Levy - i.e. he shares presenter Peter Levy's name. Considering it's been over a month since the latest new episode of Who aired, that's hardly new news!

Didn't Alan Partridge once have a feature called, 'Knowing Me, Alan Partridge, Knowing You, Another Alan Partridge'?

A set update would be nice
