UTV
They keep the UTV logo for local programme endboards
A Jim O Hagan presenting the weather on tonight’s UTV Live?. never heard of him?
Are they not allowed to hire new talent?
Oh absolutely, i think he might be a producer for UTV?. In Vision forecasts on weekends would be nice?
Pamela has just confirmed that UTV Life will be back on air on Thursday 13th January 2022, so looks like the UTV branding/brand name is still with us for 2022.

Great news for us all in N.I. ?

UTV's Julian is back on the UTV, for what I believe is the first time since being axed by ITV!!

He's doing an advert for Rite Price Sofas and it's certainly in true Julian style!! It's just been shown during the evening news.

And what with Pamela doing sofa ads too, it's certainly gonna be rival of the sofa adverts....Julian Vs Pamela!

Gillian Porter has returned to the UTV as the voiceover for the frontcap and endcap of the party political broadcast, "There now follows a party political broadcast by the......party" and "That was a party political broadcast bla bla bla....."

Got a feeling these are/were recordings from pre-2020 before the UTV continuity axe.
If these are infact recorded voiceovers then why on the main ITV when you get party political broadcasts it's usually the on duty continuity announcer, and not just any old recorded voice from that political party etc.

Anyway it's great for us viewers to welcome a familiar voice back onto UTV. This is only the 2nd time she's been heard since the continuity axe,(the only other time was on the census advert last year).

Probably for the best that they're using old UTV recordings, given the network announcing team's inability to even pronounce Stormont correctly.
From next Friday, 11th March, UTV Life is scheduled from 7pm, with the ITV Evening News only 30mins, however in England it appears the 1 hour Evening news is still on.

So ITV are now happy for UTV to opt out on a Friday from the hour long news format for regional programming?

Maybe STV will also start to opt out of ITN on a Friday for Scotland Tonight, Border Scotland for Border Life, and ITV Wales for a regional programme?

Think that’s what was being suggested cause Wales has something next Friday at 7 as well
Border Life is indeed scheduled for 7pm next Friday on ITV Border (Scotland). Coast & Country is on at 7pm on ITV Wales.
STV don't broadcast Scotland Tonight on Fridays so we have the full hour-long Evening News.
Don’t they get Scotland tonight thursday at 830 with tonight shown later in the evening

I believe so. That's why I thought UTV would use this slot to opt out for the weekly UTV Life, but it appears UTV sticks with the ITV Network for the Tonight programme and has a reduced Friday evening ITV news to accommodate regional programming instead.

I wonder how the ITN News will sign off in these regions? Perhaps the second half hour will be treated as a separate programme in all regions, with some kind of closing sequence just before 7pm? Or perhaps a pre-recorded closer and end-titles will play for the regions that are opting out?
