Something like that. There are some other examples worldwide: in Australia, the local Sky News streams an audio-only version which is exclusive to iHeartRadio Australia; in Canada, Bell Media's BNN Bloomberg network is broadcast in an audio-only version on station CFTE 1410 in Vancouver, and it was extended to CKOC 1150 in Hamilton as part of Bell Media's 2021 cutbacks (both stations offer alternative programmes and paid programming during non-business day hours). They also attempted to simulcast CP24 in the legendary 1050 CHUM in Toronto from 2009, replacing the oldie format inspired on their Top 40 glory years, to criticism from critics and listeners.

Listening to these during the tests over the last month, and since launch (French national DAB is satellite-fed just like UK national DAB) via my PC satellite tuner - you can instantly tell that BFM Radio is a simulcast of the TV channel because it sounds like TV audio! It’s difficult to put my finger on what specifically it is about the sound mix that makes it so, but it’s very obvious to my ears. :mrgreen:

Yep. BFM Business is something like a radiovision service, with content designed to be simultaneous on radio and TV. It was the first of its kind in France, with the radio studio being designed to fit for TV and with a playout which has radio language, and it would eventually be adapted for the Bourdin Direct simulcast over at RMC Découverte (later with Apolline Matin and now moved to RMC Story). After they moved to the Altice Campus, their content, however, is becoming increasingly aligned to a more televisual style.

Sophie Hébrard, another ex BFMTV presenter will be the weekday presenter for mornings on the Marseille Provence channel.

So, there she went! It was really sad to see her leave the early slot of Première édition, but, at least, she's remaining within the fold of the BFM network. Speaking of which... weekdays will be local with morning and evening presented shows, and it looks the rest of the daily schedule will be the tout-image sequences which are updated continuously (it will be seen if they are pan-regional or local).

In other news, the CSA has upheld compliants about C8's broadcast of the controversial anti-abortion film Unplanned, as part of a special programming schedule aired on August 15 in occassion of the French national religious holiday of Assomption. The decision of the CSA was not to the programming being against editorial guidelines, but due to its content and inappropiate age rating. The film aired on C8 during early prime as a -10, but the CSA thought the film has disturbing content for that rating, recommending it as a -12, thus making it only appropiate for airing after 22h00 (the film is oficially rated in France as a -16, which is restrictive). Sticking on it, C8 has announced a new extension of Touché pas à mon poste !, focused on domestic animals. Called Waf Waf Wouf Wouf, it will be hosted by Cyril Hanouna and the show's chroniqueurs, with special guest host Matthieu Delormeau, and will feature viral videos, live challenges and interviews. I’m a little confused with this one. Is BFM Toulon Var actually just a name plate for what is in effect a rebroadcast of BFM Marseille? It looks like the same presenter lineup, etc. If so, surely they’d have been better just calling it BFM Marseille, Provence, Var ??

The same happens with BFM Grand Lille and Grand Littoral which are the same feed with different branding. (As an aside, they're owned by SECOM who own music tv channel Melody TV with Altice as a minority shareholder).

BFM DICI is the brand used for two local stations in the southern French Alps and Haute-Provence, although the on-air branding is BFM Alpes and BFM Provence.

BFM Grand Littoral / Lille has since become a simulcast and as London Lite said there is no distinction anymore between the two channels barring the branding.

BFM Marseille / Toulon will be what BFM Lille / Littoral initially was. Two separate feeds and content and news bulletins (so one will be pre-recorded).

This makes me wonder if TV5 Monde France Belgique Suisse will be renamed to TV5 Monde France Belgique Suisse Monaco from next year, they are apparenlty joining with a new public broadcaster called Monte-Carlo Riviera but it's apparently a news focused channel, so it's going to be intersting to see what they are going to contribute

I doubt they'll rebrand FBS to include Monaco. FBS is just to distinguish it from the pan-European feed where FBS shows more programming from France Télévisions than the other.
