I can't see this bulletin launching until January as they would have met their quota for news already this year.

I can't see the hour long bulletin lasting long though I suspect the next step will be asking OFCOM to cut their news commitment to 30 minutes at 5pm rather than reinstate the primetime commitment.

Not going to happen. ITN have a roadmap for a November launch and are very excited about the changes, New studio, new everything to reflect such big changes. No, I can't reveal inside sources.

November makes sense as Home and Away goes on its usual hiatus then so gives Channel 5 a chance to launch their new look schedule.

As much as opinion news formats aren't to my taste, they might as well do something different in that slot instead of a generic news bulletin which the target audience for the current bulletin are watching the 6pm BBC One/ITV news block.
