And no one will tell me different that they didnt design that logo to look like the original Weather Channel. Fox does dirty, weird creepy stalkery stuff like that. Then after a while they will start to attack The Weather Channel for any and everything. Its going to happen. And then like more normal channel the crazies will be polarized over weather, like they are with the news and business news. Its going to happen.

And frankly I dont believe any of the niceties they are spouting right now. Somehow it will be used as a conservative mouthpiece for their weird anti-climate change nonsense. I wont be shocked or surprised and neither should anyone else.

I don't think it's creepy and stalkerish to make the logo curved those words don't fit for that, but I also noticed it looked like the original Weather Channel logo. I do hope they don't make weather political that'd be weird, (Yes weirder than doing news,) plus I feel they might run it as a way to bolster to local stations with weather hubbing (Read one day cutting roles and just having centralized weather , I hope not, but you know) and they may have something working since the Weather Channel , during non severe weather stops at 8pm Eastern on weekdays 1pm Weekends. Interesting since this is going to be app weather channel instead of cable it will be up against Weather Nation and even AccuWeather has a channel for non cable that just launched a month ago.

There's usually (it seems like) a lot of national weather stories to cover on any given day. It's not like a general news channel where some days there seems like nothing worthwhile is happening.

Divided broadcast wheel into national, maybe regional, and occasionally some specialized segments like boat & beach, snow, etc. and that's more than enough stuff to fill the time.

A typical hour on a North American weather channel only has 20-30 minutes of forecaster presentation anyway.

And speaking of Fox Weather's presentation, they better get some sort of ticker/L-bar featuring forecast information somewhere on the screen, a must-have for this type of channel. Acc. to the one sole photo released so far, it's nonexistent.

The channel's launch begins Monday at 6:00am ET/11:00am GMT.

There is actually quite a bit to cover. The weather across North America is and can be quite volatile and varied. On non "active" days they will divide the country into regions and then into forecasts for specific types of weather like a tropics forecast or skiing or boating or even travel forecasts. If there is or is going to be active or even severe weather, be it stormy or snowy, etc... everything kicks into high gear. Warning specific areas and forecasting when the weather will impact certain area. Live rolling coverage of tornado outbreaks can lasts for hours and hours and hours as it rolls across the country. And it is continual. Usually their rolling coverage happens form the WEATHERLAB. It has all the screens and sources right at their fingertips and located directly off the forecast center and the head meteorologists stations are there as well. I included the picture below. You will see banks for screens on the desks and its not for show.
North American broadcast weather is far more detailed than European forecasts due the severe aspect and the wide variety of weather impact that affect the US and Canada. I find UK forecasts frankly quite vague with little detail. But the weather really doesnt do much but rain. The Weather Channel based in Atlanta launched in 1982 and has been quite successful ever since. Typically in the evening/primetime they have Weather themed documentaries. If severe weather is occurring that is dropped in favour of live rolling coverage. The Weather Channel ratings increase significantly during hurricane and tornado outbreaks.




The Weather Network based outside Toronto was launched in 1988 and features 24hr rolling weather coverage, but is mostly taped and some live wheel-format.


WeatherNation based in Denver came about during the streaming age in 2010 and its similiar to the Weather Channel in that is has live rolling coverage but is significantly smaller and is on some pay-tv systems but is mainly successful in the streaming arena.


Accuweather launched in 1962 as a forecasting company and is a household name across North America providing forcasts to many media outlets in a variety of areas. In 2021 they launched Accuweather NOW their live streaming service.





FOX Weather is entering a very crowded market. They will be successful I think because they will attack everyone and find a sneaky dirty way to do it, like everything else they do.

The Weather Channel (which doesn't do live programming 24 hours a day) , Accu Weather Channel, Weather Nation , fill their time with indepth forecasts of different regions going into states, counties, and cities/towns to cover the day. They also do reports in locations like during a heat wave, they'll have reports about how communities are dealing with the heat, they also do lifestyle segments, outdoors stuff, especially the Weather Channel with their "Get into the Out there" campaign. The Weather Channel doesn't do 24/7 anymore, they are 14 hours of live programming on weekdays and 7 hours on weekends, unless there's breaking weather. They fill the rest of their time with true life shows , they have skewed their originals back to weather at least, though maybe a little forced like the true crime weather show they have.

Plus the idea is you really don't have to watch the whole time, you can tune in and then walk go on with your day , like how news channels used to be in the US. The Weather Channel has a segment called Local on the 8's, simple segment where using a system through cable companies (to make this explained simply) and gives you the local area weather, sadly, the Weather Channel cut the segments to about 1 minute and only twice an hour a few years ago.

In typical FOX fashion here are the tacky logos and the times. And everything is branded "America's Weather...." This directly appeals the creepy Fox News viewers that view anything other than FOX as anti American...unless is goes against their personal views. Fox will find some way to polarise the weather like they have done everything else.
