Prince Philip has Died
I've no complaint with the wall-to-wall cross channel service, on the day of the announcement and indeed for the funeral of the spouse of The Head of State. His demise really is historic and deserves such coverage. There's a good argument for some continuation of some cross channel activity daily between the two events too.

I don't think people have issues with BBC One and ITV showing wall to wall coverage but I think that they should have let BBC Two and BBC Four continue airing their evening programmes.
Apologies if mentioned, but further coverage has been billed for tomorrow morning at 10am on BBC One for four hours.
different CAs saying the exact same words on the BBC One family ident on BBC One, with a different one on BBC Two, over the exact same family ident
A slightly more animated version of the Family ident at 9pm (or probably the same one, and South East had just opted late earlier). Interestingly, different announcers on One & Two over the ident.

"This is the BBC" is ok but "This is BBC Television" would sound better I think

We'll disagree there.
9pm ident as seen on BBC One

They're both women and that trumps regionality; ITV guidelines

They’ve got Steve Wright in on a Saturday I see.

Probably a tribute show that was recorded in 2018 knowing good ol’ Wrighty...
"Love the show Steve!"

Interesting they've already released the tribute programme hosted by Vanessa Feltz on BBC Sounds. She must've recorded it a few weeks back?

She could’ve done it this afternoon. After all she suddenly had no show to present about 10 minutes into a two hour slot.
Anyone else silently gritting their teeth at "the BBC" not being "BBC Television (from London)"?

Serious Rememberin' with DJ Silly Boi (no 'g')....
I think at this point, I'm expecting the family ident to be used for on all junctions on all BBC channels for the rest of tonight (Newsnight on BBC2 as an example)
Scrolling credits to end what was a pitch-perfect live tribute from ITV News.
