And the one and only NewscastStudio has just posted their take on the changes... The post also features some credits on the new look set and graphics, the set is from Jack Morton PDG and Showman Fabricators, under the creative direction of CBS News' Renee Cullen, with lighting by Lonnie Juli, and the graphics were also designed in-house. The Abblasen remix comes from Joel Beckerman's Man Made Music studio.

This is the 8am opener for CBS Mornings. It’s a different way of opening, but I like it (even if the “Hey”s at the end are a bit cringey)

Someone’s watched day one of GMB and the way they introduced themselves then!

I highly doubt they watched GMB...LOL. I needed that laugh. Its likely that will be gone. These day one formats will usually be changed or dropped by the end of the month. And likely it was something the anchors happen to say on their own. They dont need "Hey" to be typed into the autocue....(AHEM)

In typical CBS morning style, it's functional and that's about it. Today and GMA have nothing to worry about as per usual.

The lower 3rds remind me of the last CBS The Early Show look (minus the knock off apple look)
![]() I don't think they were copying CNN for these current ones, It's just that CNN's are so simple that anyone else's can look like them. jacobmorton post_id=38297 time= user_id=1065 Wrote:This is the 8am opener for CBS Mornings. I like the music it was fine, the EyeOpener staying is nice, but I hope they go back to having it be "Your World in 90 seconds" because today it felt like a confused teaser intro instead of highlighting things. The Lower 3rds are better than the last ones, and better than GMA and Today's. I don't get the reasoning for moving it to the old TRL studio besides the fact MTV doesn't use it anymore, they aren't using the view (because GMA) and now any reporters and etc who appear in the studio have to go to the TRL studio now. When CBS moved morning shows from 5th Avenue to the Broadcast Center, they mentioned it was good to have everyone in one space. The set looks fine, but the old one was still really good looking for 8 years old. Oh well, the next CBS News president in a few years will probably move things back and bring back the Early Show or This Morning, or be zesty and change it CBS Morning News and have CBS Morning News be renamed Early News or something.

So do you think they’re gonna mess with the Sunday Morning branch to fit in with the new packaging?
I mean, if you ask me, that branch was definitely due for a revamp

I just can't get past the screeching theme tune - who wants to listen to that first thing in the morning?

The naivety to think that these organisations don't look at the industry outside of their own countries when finding inspiration. Honestly, the arrogance is dumbfounding.

I have to admit I wasn't sure about Nate's appointment to the show, due to his lack of broadcast news experience, but from what I've seen he appears to be a really good addition to the show (and has a natural rapport with his co-hosts).

He seems to bring a lot of energy to the programme, he and Tony especially bounce off each other. Newcastle Studio have uploaded a condensed video of today’s second edition: https://youtu.be/3CgX5g-fb8Y Notice at the end that Gayle King uses the former title of CBS This Morning when signing off - it’s clearly going to take everyone a while to get used to it. I must admit that the theme is growing on me the more I hear it, however I much prefer the old eye opener music. |
