Love island is by far the most watched show on itv2,
If you take out the films itv2 has sooo few hits of its own!
Why doesn't itv get the rights for big brother , it could fill the 9pm slots when love island not broadcast in the autumn,
Know ratings be lower than it's golden days but surely it would be bigger ratings than what itv2 offers after love island ends .
Adverts during love island to get publicity out then even using ex love island cast from last year to launch it on 1st September next year to fill autumn nights .
Doesn't itv own the company that have the voice and big brother rights ?

The Voice was owned by Talpa Media before ITV bought that company. Big Brother was made by Endemol, which as XIII rightly stated, is owned by Banijay. I can understand the confusion though, as John de Mol Jr was involved in both Talpa and Endemol. He created Talpa in 2004 after leaving Endemol, which had been sold four years earlier.
I've still got no idea why people keep banging on about it returning. There's a reason it got cancelled twice.
You also don't just get Big Brother. You have to either build a house from scratch or do what they do for Love Island and hire a mansion and fit it with cameras, which I don't know whether it would be the same.
The biggest reason it won't return is because it's 2021.

C5 did so much damage to the brand it's still not quite shook it off yet. I suspect it'll be looked at again by broadcasters though in the not too distant future, especially once Love Island reaches the point where it's in terminal decline.
It's difficult to do right as well if broadcasters remain reluctant to embrace the 24/7 live nature that made it a success in the first place, although I also think it would be easier to monetise that now as a way to get people to subscribe to say BritBox or ITV Hub+ if ITV picked up the rights, or All4+ if on C4.

Love Island does what it says on the tin, it attracts the viable 15-24 audience that linear broadcasters crave as they're more likely to end up watching streaming services otherwise, so why would they consider buying a tired reality format that has seen better days?
I think Big Brother would really struggle as a format right now. Most other reality shows have a “point” to them, see Love Island, Married at First Sight, The Circle…
I did love the show ‘back in the day’ and part of me thinks ITV2 would be a good fit, maybe for a Celebrity version but yeah, my above statement is stronger reasoning.
