If you have been in the BBC for around 40 years … your pension deal is good …
And staying longer has all sorts of problems on payout and tax rules.
And you may feel that to take life a bit easier
and to freelance much/little as you want to do so,
(Staff who joined later and achieve 40 years don’t get a good pension
getting worser and worser at every revision )

Don't forget also Rory was diagnosed with Parkinsons a couple of years ago. Upheaval to move 400 miles is not exactly a tonic for such a condition.

I know this post may be controversial but I have to ask.
I cannot watch BBC News when anchored by Burak or Ley. I just personally find them both appalling presenters and can’t fathom the amount of airtime they are given.
How much longer do we the viewer have to put up with this?
