Thought I’d set up this thread as my first post on TVL Forum as we have a significant development in the Coronavirus News Briefings this evening.
Tonight’s Briefing is the first one to be conducted in Downing Street’s new £2.6m Media Conference room.
Be prepared for the blue-ness!
Can't wait for the first journo to ask how Downing Street are finding the new £2.6million TV studio (Mrs Merton tribute)

So far so normal. Not all that much different. The blue is indeed very blue.
And we still have "next slide please"...

Chris Whitty still doesn’t have a clicker. And the screen is pretty much in his face now.
They don't seemed to have coloured podiums now with the messages. It's just the normal podiums.
<r>From TV Forum but with an extra bit of LIVE in the middle. <E>

Looks like its still a camera on sticks the way its moving rather than using the PTZs we saw they had installed, Maybe not wired up yet...
EDIT: Maybe not, the pans do look quite robotic, I just thought it felt like the camera was moving side to side slightly as if someones hand was on the pan arm of a tripod.
They've somehow managed to make the backdrop look virtual despite it being real.

Really liking this new press studio they've created. Interested to see it being used for "non-Covid" announcements as well.

My first thought? It's so nice to have a TV that's properly built into the room, rather than on wheels, school assembly style
