This whole thing is very, very interesting to watch.
I'm here trying to piece together what the logos could look like based on everyone's collective words...
And it's pretty fun.

Well I’ve taken the survey. I wasn’t sure what people meant when they compared the new look to Microsoft. I’ve got Power BI and SharePoint on my phone and the icons for these look very similar to the ones shown in the survey.
It is very modern and nothing like we’ve seen on the BBC before.
In a way I can see where they are coming from. Back in 1997 the corporate was changed because it didn’t work well on computer screens.
Now we’re in the age of smart phones and anything that’s connected to internet, I can see why they are doing it again.
From a design point of view it must be quite hard to fit the traditional logos into smaller spaces, like a smart watch.
My grandparents are in there 80s and both have smart phones. They both use the BBC News and Weather apps, I can see them finding it hard to spot them.
I don’t mind the new corporate logo. In a way, if they where on a slant, with rounded edges I can see the retro side of it.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing what it all looks like on screens of all types.
Just took the survey – I was only asked to identify two logos, one for BBC iPlayer and one for BBC News. The former included the BBC blocks, while the latter didn't. I'm not sure why there was a discrepancy, but I found it hard to identify the News logo without context (without giving too much away, it is formed of three shapes that don't especially shout "BBC").
I really like the idea of making the blocks the hero, and giving it some life. The only criticism I had of '97 was the rigid rules on what you could do (no 3D, don't animate them individually etc.) Thankfully that was relaxed over the years. Presumably the distance now between the blocks is part necessity to make it clearer when they are doing their thing at small sizes. Letters still too small though and the News logo in dark mode looks horrific.
I haven't seen the survey but it sounds very brave if this is going to translate across to the channels. All we can ask for is something consistent and ambitious so if that's what's happening, even if it is going a bit W1A, then good luck to them!
I'll be sad to see the back of some of the current branding though - CBeebies and iPlayer in particular have been excellent since day one.
Worries? I do wonder if we'll see the return of some DOGs to the channels. And whether we might go a bit backwards with the ECP. The BBC have the best template at the moment with full frame, bespoke credits. It would be a shame to lose that to the 'clunking dead fist of Marketing'.
Re Asa's post above, another exceptional piece of design and branding is BBC Sport, which has been consistently excellent since the advent of the 2003 graphics (although the 2014-17 graphics were perhaps not the best they've ever had).
The Reith set that they've had since 2017, though, are genuinely brilliant and I don't think they have aged at all (unlike the 2006-10 graphics which really were looking in need of a refresh IMHO by the time of the 2010 revamp).
It will be hard to do those better - although perhaps the new Sport icon will fit in with the existing graphics set in some way?!

The only thing that I hope most for and look forward to seeing is a rebrand of BBC News on TV, I think it's waaaaaaaay over time for a major rebrand
Could someone tell me how to access the survey? Many thanks.

Could we please move discussion on how to access the survey to private messages? I really don't want to have to wade through pages of nonsense to get to some *actual* discussion.
Thank you.

Interesting to see what they do with BBC Three’s branding. It’s the one which is closest to all this.
