Believe what was the TV-am studio now no longer exists. The building was sold to MTV in 1993, extensively refurbished a few years ago and the eggcups on the roof are the only legacy of TV-am at that building, since the facade that was stuck there on the front of the building in the 1980s was covered up and then removed.

There is studio space AFAIK in the (current) building, just probably not as much. Studio A in the TV-am days was something like 3k square feet and a smaller one 300 square feet. Don't think MTV needed that much and I suspect they built offices on the original grounds of the studios.

Some amazing pix I’d never seen before on that second link- just check out that reception desk! I wonder what happened to the hospitality area armchairs? I reckon Ian White would kill for them. The interior of Richard ‘Dirty’ Desmond’s Thames-side headquarters had similar decor- though less garish- when I went in once about 10 years ago, but I think that has been stripped out too now.

As to what happened to the chairs, probably went in a skip somewhere at some point, if they hadn't gone into one by the time MTV bought the building. Could always ask the TV-am twitter account or use the contact box on the above website.

Somebody put on some Facebook page entitled "Hyacinth Bucket-Dame Patricia Routledge with Others" that this is still the case in 2020, although whoever runs that Facebook page seems to post relentlessly about the subject spamming this that and the other related groups and seems to have a stuck Caps Lock Key too.
