With this move to White City, would this include anyone from ITN and the future possibility - conjecture allowing please - for a possible use of the GMB studio for it?

There's a few floors at Neptune House going free later this year, if it doesn't fall down first Big Grin

Do you mean ITN News using the GMB studio at Television Centre? If this is what you are asking, then the answer is most certainly no. ITN headquarters in Grays Inn Road will remain the HQ for ITN News, as GMB is based in a studio they share with This Morning, with the two sets back to back placed in TC3.

ITN and ITV are two separate companies so the chances of them moving to Broadcast Centre are zero.

Plenty of different companies share the same buildings. Probably even more so in the future with the move towards WFH and having less people in the office at any one time.

Yes and even if they wanted to I doubt there'd be enough room for both ITV and ITN in the 3 floors of The Broadcast Centre.... I'm surprised there's room for all of ITV even in these days of working from home.

And of course ITN have 3 studios, galleries, a large newsroom etc.

I wonder how Broadcast Centre compares to ITV's current location in Holborn? Can't imagine it's much bigger.

I don't get the suggestions of ITV News being broadcast from TC3, it's never going to happen.

Only a couple of weeks ago ITN announced a massive changeover/upgrade to an almost total IP based infrastructure to their facilities, they’re not going anywhere at present.

Someone from the BBC who is currently based in the Broadcast Centre commented to me yesterday their dept may have to move out to accommodate ITV moving in.

I don't think there's any 'may' about it, the BBC are moving out so why their dept would be exempt I don't know.

ITN will remain at Grays Inn Road - I do not see them ever leaving that complex. Suits them perfectly.

I think that will depend on ITN’s shareholders, it may suit ITN but does it financially suit it’s owners? Personally I think GIR is secure for the immediate future and I say that as someone who lobbied ITV’s management to move ITN over to TLS - obviously some years ago. Technically it would have been a good move, but I suspect ITN like being on a longish lead.

Needs change on an almost annual basis nowadays so it would be foolish to assume anything.

Wow - moving ITN to the south bank. If ITN had moved to TLS before 2018, do you think ITV would have had to have kept the whole London Studios complex up and running?
