YouTube channels - prez and content discussions

I'm not sure we really need to post every new Techmoan video on this thread unless there's something comment-worthy about it
Write that down in your copybook now

I guess there is something comment worthy with him presenting it on location- not that the person who posted it mentioned that.

There's an Australian YouTuber whose channel I subscribe to named Minty Comedic Arts, who has done a lot of great videos talking about some of the films he's seen as well as sharing facts from them.

The "What's Inside?" channel is relatively interesting on occasion, even if it is so American presentation wise with copious product placement particularly in some of the more recent videos:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G72CoMBmkfY

Described as "We cut open random things to see what's inside. This channel started with a 2nd grade school project to see what was inside sports balls. We cut things open so you don't have to" - although lockdown seems to have reduced them to cutting Amazon boxes open as of late. That and feeding their second/third channel with vlog style content.

It's really not necessary to post a new video by the same person who has already been mentioned several times in this thread… that's what the subscribe button is for.

@Rob, I think VMPhil has a good point.

How would people feel about closing this thread and creating a new one where we share videos we think others should watch as long as the poster gives a good reason why.

I love YouTube but its search algorithm presents me with pretty samey stuff all the time. It'd be great to find out the gems it presents to others.

A classic example of presentation evolution can be seen on the Vinheteiro channel. "a channel specialized in piano. Here you will hear classical music, videogame music, cinema, anime and etc. The piano arrangements of this channel are all made by Lord Vinheteiro." I don't think he is actually a "Lord" in the UK sense, his website is in Portuguese (he said in one video he's from Brazil). Anyway he's been on YouTube since 2008, early videos are all of the "point a cheap camera phone at something, anything and record it" while talking in his native tongue and now the channel hook is "watch me play this piano while I stare at you".

I can recommend ChinnyVision. Mainly covers old games released on the 8-bit home computers and old tech from that era. Everything is captured from the original systems too, no emulation. He's fond of old telly too!

I'm a big fan of The Sidemen for their takes on gameshows, but they've done their own version of The Wheel, on the actual set of the show...

Surely that's what the YouTube Gold thread is for?

As long as that doesn't fill up with Techmoan videos too...

Cathode Ray Dude is someone I'd never heard of until YouTube recommended him to me two days ago.

Although this video is about the Nintendo video game system, he tries to find out why RF is worse quality than composite and if it's possible to wirelessly send a signal using a modulator/booster from hotel use and then cable TV station. (which I believe people from this thread would be very interested in)

An interesting tape device is shown off in this week's Techmoan video:
