Not only TV channels mate, have a look at this https://radiomap.eu/je/saint-helier also I used this amazing website https://fmscan.org/index.php and searched for Jersey, they can basically get every single channel on French DTT! this means that they get both all the channels on Freeview and on the French TNT, they are very lucky indeed, no idea as to how many people in Jersey actually watch or listen to French channels and stations

Let's take it with a pinch of salt, from my understanding it is just one official making the threat. TV stations tend to have sufficient supplies to last for a time. The multiple threats of blockades from Europe (or certain member states) at seemly every turn of dispute is bizarre and also concerning giving our history, but at the same time this is just to appease certain voters in France and elsewhere. I don't think they would be silly enough to actually do it. We also share/trade electricity with France (and Norway I think) on the main lines. As with other recent threats of blockades. It is a two way street. It is not in anyones interest to block anything over a storm in a teacup.
Do the islands rely on France for transmission purposes or other communications? I would imagine now going forward any such links will be reviewed along with some new cables being run under the sea!
The newspaper reviewers on Sky News are salivating about the story. I have to ask if the story has something to do with the local elections tomorrow.... :roll:

Amazingly, possibly ironically, I'm not sure, but it was indeed his predictions on Covid-19 that broke the camel's back, but ultimately turned out to be correct. Nostradamus eat your heart out.
I don't think the CI have much to worry about, the "ripple-effect" of France turning those switches off means it's highly unlikely to happen. It beggars belief that the French are even thinking about it, frankly.

There's a video on YouTube of The West Country Tonight being knocked off due to a power cut, but they were still able to broadcast from a lit studio, so I imagine the other regions including CTV may have some form of emergency generator so they could still put out some form of contingency bulletin for the lunchtime and possibly the late for the first day, although I can imagine they'll just send the news to West Country and take their feed?

No point broadcasting if nobody can see it. Furthermore, if the TX on Fremont Point is knocked off, that in itself will take the whole shebang down.

Weren't the French hotels on the coast picking up Channel to show Coronation Street? I'm sure I read that somewhere.
Also it was somewhat ironic that it was the pandemic prediction that got him banned. I do recommend going back and reading that thread sometime, it's about 50 pages of discussion before lockdown was announced.
