Slightly odd today was that Martine Croxall presented the build up to the Coronavirus briefing and introduced it, but then after it finished she had disappeared and Reeta Chakrabarti recapped the briefing and introduced the weather.

Just an issue with how the timing of the briefing fell and today's rota. Laura and the political team had to do a lot of shuffling to get ready for the post-briefing and build up to the 6 as well.
Martine seen on TrundleCam ™ as she arrives in the newsroom at TOTH whilst Clive reads the headlines Smile

19:00 hour Friday no longer simulcasted, previous weeks the News Channel would have World presenter from previous few hours

It might be because they are now recording Dateline London live on Friday evening rather than Saturday. The 21:00 simulcast is likely to remain as that has always been a simulcast, but the timing is odd because World are airing part five of Ros Atkins looking at Brexit, which has aired all week at this time
It’s nice to see them cutting simulcast with 7&8pm now split on Fridays. I thought they would’ve kept them for cost cutting.

Thought it was just 4 part series, there's a 15 minute collection on the News Channel scheduled Saturday and Sunday 18:45

Ah, guess UK News Channel will first air it tomorrow

I really fail to understand why Shaun Ley gets so much airtime. Personally I’m not a fan. I’ve also previously expressed how I’m not a fan of Lukwesa Burak yet she has also gotten a lot of airtime.

There are soooo many presenters across NC and WORLD that far better suit the channels, yet the BBC field us with presenters that just IMO don’t for the bill.

I personally think Shaun is an excellent presenter with years of experience (started in 1990 i believe?) and I’ve enjoyed seeing him a lot more recently, especially on the papers. It’s all personal preference though.

Agreed. I’d just like to see more variety than we currently have. There is soooooo much talent on World for example that aren’t getting any airtime. Yes, I appreciate contracts prevent many from appearing on X, Y, and Z but still……
