...and some of us gave up hope before UTV became part of ITV plc.
Not recruiting any talent outside of the confines of Havelock House since 1997, and not retaining existing talent who went to some actual effort in doing their job; dropping daytime continuity first on weekdays, then weekends and holidays years down the line; abandoning anything interesting or innovative presentation-wise after a few months...
Unless there's a change of thinking process at London, which seems nigh on impossible, it is what it is.
Well well well, I'm shocked with this week's UTV Life announcement, and with gritted teeth I have to say I'm slightly won over by tonight continuity!
It's either Caroline or Andrea on tonight with the recording, word perfect, non of this reading word for word from the epg, and shock horror sounded HIGHLY enthusiastic when she said "It's ya Fridays UTV Life". She was Very enthusiastic and happy infant!!!
Who else heard it and was as shocked as I was??

There used to be an announcer, Michael Anderson. He was a voiceover ages ago maybe when I started primary school. He was good
Michael Henderson, or Hendi as he was on his DJ days at Downtown.
As well as being the main voiceover for UTV's trailers from the mid-1990s, he was also part of the production team on 'Kelly'.
I believe Hendi retired over a decade ago, and John Kearns took over as UTV's main promo voice.

Some week I'd love the announcer to say "Now on the ITV some very comfy looking sofas, where do you get them Pamela?"
Holly Ballantine presenting tonight’s weather on UTV Live. Where do UTV find these people?

She's on the credits of UTV Life as a researcher. I've noticed her name each week and wondered if she's related to the host??

Cheers man. would be good for some in vision forecasts. Or get James Wright or Manali Lukha or someone to do the weather
"...and now your weekend weather, here's Julian Simmons

Well, if Norn Iron viewers can handle an English weather presenter on Newsline...
Ironically, in the early days of 'Good Evening Ulster', the weather presenter was English - Su Evans, later of ATV/Central continuity.
(And before anyone asks, no, Holly Ballantine is not one of Tina Campbell's children.)
I would have thought people were more wondering if Holly Ballantyne was the daughter of Pamela Ballantyne, not Tina Campbell.

A quick look on LinkedIn, Holly has been with UTV since 2014, and previously at UTV Ireland, BBC NI, and loads of other jobs. I don't think she looks like Pamela, so maybe the surname is a coincidence?
Like I said, I just noticed her name on the UTV LIFE credits, and just thought her Auntie Pammie may have got her a job at UTV? That's what I thought anyway.
I'm not sure where and how Tina Campbell got into this conversation?

Tina Campbell is married to John-Paul Ballantine.
Who used to be married to Pamela.
Wow, it's 5 years today that the old look UTV as we once knew it graced our screens for the last time. :o
Julians last in vision shift was shown, and the UTV rebrand was on the horizon tomorrow morning..

And now 5 years later, just look at the dire state the UTV region is in, with a mish-mash of ITV branding, the UTV name hanging on by a thread, and the less than perfect continuity. This half way house situation needs sorting once and for all....i.e. revert back to the UTV!

Tell me with a straight face that UTV continuity was anything but that when the previous owners were at the helm.
