Bit of an oddity in an ad break about 15 mins ago - before the 32Red advert, there was a VT clock for "ITV Slots" for about 10 seconds, then half the ad played before crashing into a Cinch advert.

Edit: just happened again, crashing into a Lottery ad after about 5 seconds. They seem to be having some trouble with that ad specifically for some reason.

Sounds like the ad might be running for its allotted time, but starting too early (showing the VT clock) and therefore crashing out before the end?

Just a thought from looking at some BARB data for on demand services that despite all the talk when Narrative took over of looking to enter that market that a year on other than Pop Player they haven't made any moves in regards to their Great! TV and Movie CHannels portfolio into the on demand world.

Which is odd. Couldn't they just use Pop Player's tech for a Great! Player app?

TV and Movie CHannels portfolio into the on demand world.

Considering MASH currently airs on Great! TV (over and over), not exactly "returning to free-to-air tv" is it?

So they're moving away from the movie channels being solely movies.

I'm guessing the Great! TV airing of MASH will come to an end then.

MASH aired on Movies4Men before. It's nothing.

Oddly "What to Watch" still uses the Movies4Men logo and True Entertainment logos, but confirm MASH remains on Great! TV on weeknights. Movies have also crept into the schedule there to. MASH airs on Action from 3-7pm on the Sunday and there are double bills of Starsky and Hutch at 11am on weekdays.


Presentation wise though and it's a shame what appeared at first to be a quick temporary look for a fairly quick rebrand following an acquisition is still in place a year later. Obviously nobody watches Great! TV or Movies for the idents but even so considering what they replaced it would be nice to pimp them up a bit. The presentation Sony had made the channels feel less cheap than they actually were because the presentation somewhat suggested otherwise.

I guess that even after a year, nothing changed for the ex Sony channels, now under Narrative.
About the presentation in the late Sony era - Sony Channel and Sony Movies got the presentation used out of UK. The two remaining Sony Channel (Germany and LATAM) use it, Sony Movies in the USA (and LATAM) uses it. I guess that Sony wanted to unite the channel brands under a similiar style of presentation, as Sony Cine in the USA (the minor sister of Sony Movies, airing movies in Spanish) and Sony AXN in Germany (and it never went out of Germany) do exist, using the same style of presentation. Also, there was a scapped rebrand idea for Animax under the Sony Animax name.

Feel like GREAT! don't even care about their channels. I messaged them a few days asking them if there were gonna air some new shows on GREAT! TV and they never got back, as the last new show they added was in February with Perception.

I've said this a few times now, but GREAT! would do good as a classic TV channel like say MeTV in the US. I'm not really gonna count TalkingPicturesTV, I'm talking about a TV channel that airs old American shows. Talking does the opposite, they air old British movies.

Trouble is for everybody saying they should focus on old classic American TV will be people saying they should acquire modern classic British TV.   Indeed in one of their previous guises didn't they air the likes of Hustle and Hotel Babylon?

I don't know if they're trying to invoke the spirit of Movies4Men from its grave or want to take the place of Forces TV. Maybe both.

I couldn't see a channel solely dedicated to classic American shows working in the UK, in the same way I couldn't see a channel dedicated to classic UK shows working in the USA, even BBC America is mostly reruns of Star Trek.

Many of the bigger US imports are already dotted around various channels in this country, so there wouldn't be a lot left to get.

Audiences here would probably be more appreciative of a channel with classic shows from Britain, especially after the axe fell on Forces TV which gave many underrated UK sitcoms of the past long overdue repeat runs.
