Wonderful to learn on this morning's programme that Kate's husband, Derek, has been able to return home after a year.
Hopefully a sign that he is on the mend and (bringing it back to TV) that we'll begin to see Kate able to get back to a more normal life again, including, I hope, a lot more of her on GMB again.
Kate's been part of ITV Breakfast for two decades and there's a reason for that - she's able to handle the lighter, fluffier segments as well as the more sombre, emotional hard news events (today's news being a good example of the latter), and she clearly gets on famously with her colleagues, and is well-liked by the audience.
Looking forward to hopefully seeing more of her in 2021 than we did in 2020, and my best wishes to the family generally as Derek continues to recuperate.
"Good evening. Dull, grey, cold, miserable - and that's just me. The weather hasn't been great, either."
Watching Kate on GMB yesterday got me really emotional. She has had such a tough, horrific year. Openly admitted to be struggling financially and emotionally.
I'm glad that Derek is now home, and I wish them both, their kids and rest or the family all the best for the future.

You can tell they genuinely really like each other.

Special programme on Monday about the death of Prince Philip - don’t know how to embed tweets on here but Erron Gordon (The Director) confirmed it as so on Twitter.
I think it’s likely that on Monday at least we’ll see the somber music and titles that were used for the Remembering Captain Tom special edition. I wouldn’t be surprised if the upbeat into break beds are also not used for the duration of the national mourning period.
I would also expect the logo to be grey-colored, as it was during the Covid tribute.
There’s one thing for sure - GMB always hit the nail on the head presentation wise, so whatever they do I’m sure it will look great and be a fitting tribute to the Duke. Their tribute to coronavirus victims really hit home how tragic the pandemic had been/continues to be.

No 6.00am-6.30am bulletin today, Kate and Susanna presenting. The clock has lost its orange background.
