Well, exactly. In the same way that the same channel, which declares itself to have been set up to celebrate freedom of expression, has so spent most of its airtime piling on athletes who want to exercise theirs.
Surely it's a two-way street? If you're claiming to be most aggrieved that you supposedly are being denied your right to express yourself for fear of being 'canceled' then to use that 'safe space' you've created solely as a platform to diminish others' rights to do the same then you're a hypocrite of the highest order.

What happened to them being positive about Britain and not being a downer on the country?
The trouble is if yesterday is anything to go by the channel basically has one editorial team with the same topics, including random stuff like this, talked about from dawn to dusk. That is never going to be sustainable. I'm not a listener of speech radio but I assume the likes of Talk Radio, Times Radio etc. have pretty much different talking points from programme to programme, though of course they'll be the bigger talking points which crop up throughout the day. Often though shows will look for a different angle rather than taking the same approach each time it is talked about.

With respect the discussion yesterday (I am not sure if they are still going on about it today) was regarding the right of each player to take the knee or not. Their issue was that the whole team was being requested to do it, regardless of personal choice. GB News claims they want to open up the discussion about race, so that may go well or not.
For the past year the media has been constantly reporting on taking the knee, it is not entirely surprising that GB News want to vent about it. Doing a google search for take the knee will see pages and pages of results all within the last few weeks. I will be glad it is all over on all sides and people can perhaps start being adults again.

Indeed the mental gymnastics by some defending the channel on Twitter are ridiculous. They’d honestly be far more credible acknowledging the issues the channel has had (but stressing it can improve) rather than sticking their hand in the sand and pretending it’s something it’s not. If people in the channel have any sense too they won’t be happy with the quality of much of the output put out.
A quick glance online too shows that they’re still going on about ‘taking the knee’. For goodness sake change up the agenda a bit and cover the undercovered stories they said they would.

It's ironic they endlessly go on about "woke warriors" and their causes (to the extent of actually having a "woke watch"), but won't shut up about taking the knee. How is it any different?
Anyone would think they're as scared about people taking the knee as they think the "lefties" are of their channel.

I think you might have hit the nail on the head there.
Both sides are actively positioning against each other in a battle for supremacy right now.
IMO, those on the left are far better at the online campaigning and so on than those on the right so I think GB News will have a fight on their hands in the early days.

I admit I can't even understand what the issue with taking the knee is. It's basically a gesture of solidarity against marginalised and oppressed groups, and in my opinion it says everything about the people who do have issues with it.

It's exactly the sort of story that's of importance to the "marginalised working class" that many are insisting this channel is aimed at. Not endless ranting about Harry and Meghan's baby and taking the knee.
