I’m surprised Charlotte hasn’t considered leaving to be perfectly honest - she’s gone from main presenter in 2014 to regular newsreader in 2015, and now to part-time newsreader, seen for 3 mins at the TOTH.
I also don’t quite get why the newsreader now has to stand by the screens/sit down/stand up again/not be at the desk, it all seems a bit silly. Maybe, I don’t know, she’s quite happy with it?

Has this been confirmed anyone? It could just be that there’s been a few temporary changes due to other commitments. For instance, Kate did Thursday as main host. Perhaps that’s a permanent change? Who knows?
Also, if Ranvir is doing two days news reading it makes her political editor role a little redundant?

ITV News Anglia GMB bulletin just completely failed. Went to wrong camera with no sound and the studio screens black, and went back and forth between London and Anglia feeds.

Meridian did much the same. They went to a shot of the BACK of our newsreader Chloe, who just sat there silent and motionless. Some tone, and flipped back and forth to London as well.

From the clips I’ve seen on here, GB News’ new breakfast show actually looks better than GMB in some ways - and they are working on an absolute fraction of the budget.
Although the content on GB News looks to be absolute drivel, their breakfast bar with the fruit, juice, espresso cups etc actually looks quite nice, certainly a world away from GMB and their slightly cold, vast, Starship Enterprise set.
I don’t think the heavily edited, slightly grainy, backdrop GMB use particularly helps, but the whole studio has quite an uninviting feel to it IMO, coupled with the slightly nasty debates.
I can certainly see how GB News’ GMTV style nostalgia fest, with an added flavour of culture wars, could start to build an audience against GMB.
Will be very interesting to see if ITV pursue the confrontational debate format, or eventually do a hard reset and stick Susanna on a bright red sofa in TC3 with nice warm lighting.
Just my view, before anybody leaps on me to say GMB looks fine to them.

I understand what you mean with the set, however I feel that it’s purely the desk. When they moved into TVC, the set looks lovely, fresh, and warm.
As for content I personally turn off when it comes to debate features whether that it is on if the Prime Minister should resign or if you should share underwear (as seen the other day). They’re either overly confrontational with opinionated people at the helm or they’re just nonsense to fill air time.
I tried to think back to how GMTV or Daybreak used the airtime, or even launch GMB with longer sections on entertainment news, a sport round up and features rather than two people arguing over breakfast. Maybe it’s just me though, as clearly they seem to have/think they have an audience for confrontation.
In terms of content I think that the March 2017-late 2018 era had it about right. Good mix of hard news, fiery debates and some fluffy stuff too. IMHO the 2017 relaunch, with the addition of the TVC set in 2018, was one of the show's best periods.

Yeah, it’s really not. It was a presentation comparison because we are posting on a presentation-based forum, touching on broader points around where ITV might end up taking Good Morning Britain in terms of its format.
If you insist on continuing to shut down discussions, we may as well pack up and all stop posting - people are allowed to disagree with you.
Set design, tone and the general feel of a program absolutely makes a difference, and it’s really very silly to suggest it does not.
I can see very clearly how people flicking over to try Eamonn on GB News, to find a nice, cosy GMTV nostalgia fest, with nice warm lighting and pastries, might prefer that over GMB. Add the hint of right-wing culture wars and you’re all set.
It’ll take a long time to make any real difference, and I still don’t think GB News ever have a hope in hell of turning a profit, but GMB certainly isn’t setting the ratings alight at the moment.
Even if you take GB News out the equation, ITV still have decisions to make - are they happy with GMB rating at Daybreak v2 levels, even with all their efforts to manufacture attention with a slightly nasty edge, or do they try something else… again?
