When they meant "bigger and bolder" I didn't think it'd be the lower thirds!

Oops, they cut to the studio a little too early

They just accidentally cut back to the studio during the weather!

I thought the weather would be at the end like channel 4 news?

My very first post after following TV forum and now here, please be nice.
Hardly a new look, just a refresh which is fine I guess but... The titles are too long, and that train?! I like trains but expect to see that on a Michael Portillo programme. Not the news. As for the graphics, too too big and look really cheap, I would prefer the previous ones in use just with the updated colours.

The colour palette and set design remind me of This Morning a little bit. It's even more dumbed-down than before. I get that they're aiming at a particular audience, but nothing seems "bigger" or "better" to me.

Nice to see you're taking some time off from leading the Labour Party... I don't think the train will be the title sequence every night - I think the images will change each night. I think the train was a part of the last headline, and they just ran footage from that as the titles, with the '5 News' logo slapped over it.

Like that it feels fast paced
Don't like the big map on the live aston. The zoom at the first break to the TV screen. The Claudia podium. Hopefully things will get tidied up

It just doesn't feel like a news programme anymore. This new hour long bulletin had the potential to be something big, but I'm rather underwhelmed by it all.

I have to say I am pleasantly surprised, yes the graphics are a bit naff and need some work. However the programme is up beat, fast paced and not too formal, something different. I will be tuning in again tomorrow.

I think the train will change and its just shown them covering all of the UK as voice-over says

A helicopter would have been more apt than a train.
