BBC (Miscellaneous): 2021 Rebrand
BBC Three has been able to convey a fun and youthful personality while staying within the new main BBC branding system, so I don't see why the same can't be done for the children's channels. Surely the aim is to make all parts of the BBC fit in with the new 'chameleon' format?

There is eye catching, and then there is following BBC brand guidelines. The personality of a brand shouldn't be lost because they happen to follow the same branding as One/Two/Three/Four/etc. In fact, who's to say you can't express personality from what you've got in the idents? Hell, CBBC followed guidelines back in 1997 and I'd say what they were able to do with a yellow scheme is warm and inviting. I understand CBBC has NEVER followed BBC brand guidelines from the years 2002 to today, but still, you'd want consistency throughout the many BBC brands, not just slapping the new Reith BBC logo and calling it a day.

Really? CBBC in 1997 looked absolutely abysmal.

Wouldn't say abysmal. I highly enjoyed the black and yellow idents of the era.

As someone who has only just started to have conversations with some of the creative teams about their plans and ideas, I find it surprising that so many people on here know exactly what is going to be happening with the children's channels.

You know the internet, everyone's an armchair expert, well connected and knows all.... or claims to be.

Is this a hint at something more or am I just looking too deep into it?
Wonderfully weird.
The BBC Red Button logo has been updated on Sky and Virgin. Freeview and Freesat still have the old logo

I'm not a fan of Sky's decision to have the Reith logos in plain white

I’d say that’s almost certainly the BBC’s decision rather than Sky’s.

It's only a problem though if you decide it's a problem.   It really isn't.   That's not to say something couldn't work which ties in more with the overall brand, but really it isn't essential at all and often can creates more problems (i.e. looks rubbish) than it solves.
@Brekkietweets
If i had to change one thing about it I'd get rid of that bloody box around it, it looks like crap
Wonderfully weird.

Well I for one disagree with you, I thought the Yellow and Black idents along with the corporate logo was the best era of CBBC, where as the bugs from 2002 were just dreadful.
Sorry if I post this, but in this tweet BBC News has used the pre-Reith Breaking News thumbnail

Didn't know there was a closer variant. Neat.

Sorry for bit late information, but there's closing sting of BBC Northern Ireland (reverse). Expect it to be appeared for BBC Scotland (blue), Cymru Wales (red), or even pan-BBC sting (rainbow colour non-100 Years ident).

Axios, Lyric W already posted the same tweet.

I assume they were supposed to replace the old logo with the new and accidentally appended it to the end instead?
